Popped in for a couple of late night lagers on Saturday and was impressed with the freshness and relatively decent prices. If you accept that you’re going to have to pay around £3.40 for a pint in London, you at least want it to taste good — something not at all certain around here. It’s also nicely decorated and has a calm atmosphere.

Decent seating, decent prices(for the Camden high street). A free house, with 2 real ales on tap, but one ran out just as we arrived, and the other(Greene King IPA) was very poorly kept. Not a bad place to stop in if you’re on the way in to a gig– you’ll likely get a seat, and they’re open late; it would be super easy for these guys to make this a first-rate pub, though. Put some decent beers on tap(on the lager side, it’s Beck’s, Carling, Grolsch, and Foster’s. Really? four shite lagers?) and keep the lines clean, &c. Please, Cobden, do better. Camden needs more decent pubs!

Recently re-done, the Cobden is trying to make itself more like a posher wetherspoons rather than the grotty old man’s pub it used to be. Basically this place is bog-standard. Nothing unique about it, boringly decorated and dark inside. Would suggest going elsewhere for a drink.

the cobden is not a bad little place. it does good food and if your visiting the market on a Sunday it does a nice roast. it is also a good place to go if want to have quiet drink with someone
