Called in here for lunch at the weekend. Didn’t know the area and having walked for 45 mins in the freezing cold at lunch time on a Saturday in London City it looked warm and smelled good! My cousin ordered a cheeseburger and it came with fries and I went for tacos with a side of coleslaw. He said his burger was«grand», my tacos were tasty but unfortunately the chilli filling was not at all hot which let them down. The salsa, cheese, guacamole and Sour cream that came with the tacos all fine and the coleslaw was fresh and tasty. 2 large glasses of wine, 2 pints and 2 mains came to almost £40, and they played the Munster match on the big screen. The waitress must have only started as she really didn’t have a clue about any of the food! when I asked did they have any gluten free options I was told«no» then I spotted the manager and asked him and he produced a guide to every dish on the menu listing allergens. Much better!

We stumbled upon Belushi’s after arriving in Camden Town and looking for a place we could grab a quick meal and some drinks. We waited a bit for our food after we ordered but it was served warm and fresh. The fish and chips were quite nice, with delicious chips. The fish wasn’t too heavily battered. The vegetarian burger was very rich and definitely a good option for vegetarians. The chicken burger was also very well done. They certainly do not skimp on the lettuce, tomatoes, and other accompaniments. The house salad was particularly impressive for a place like Belushi’s! It had a multi dimensional dressing, which featured hints of vinegar and other spices. The salad itself was garnished with feta and featured a variety of lettuces. By and large, a good experience. Would recommend if looking for a nice place to sit down and chat with friends, with some good food.

I found myself at Belushi’s after a group of ten of us realised we needed some food at 7pm on a Sunday. Finding a voucher for Belushi’s we rang to see if we could get a table. They were really good to give us one at such last minute and as the kitchen was closing at 8. The food was ok. The menu is burgers plus a couple of other bits. The burgers don’t compare with the other«upmarket» burger joints across London, but you do get chips and coleslaw included in the price. The food was luke warm, but I was pretty hungry so didn’t complain. The staff here were fantastic, especially as we came so late and there was so many of us! They were also having to put up with some questionable karoke performances. The pub itself wasn’t somewhere I’d choose to have a drink at but certainly would do for a quick pint!

My brother took me here as said the burgers were ‘amazing’ thats quite a statement to make to cheeseburger lover girl! ‘Its just A PUB’ I thought as I came in… but the barmans chat was funny. When I said ‘you seem to be in a very good mood!’ he repied with ‘its the crack!’ …and that, excuse the pun, cracked me up… then my cheeseburger arrived with tasty fries and it was gorgeous. succulent beef, tasty relish, lovely bread and amazing melted cheese… mmmmmmm…

No atmosphere whatsoever, though they have big screens if the football is on. Quite a studenty crowd when it’s busy, but deserted during the day when I went.

We headed to catch a band on the Camden Crawl recently and had a good time in here. It’s relaxed, sociable and no pretence to be found anywhere… very Camden. It’s not the best for live bands though, the stage area at the rear of the pub is fairly small and the demand to see the band was very high — meaning everyone was squeezed into one small coop and blocking off access to the toilets(which after serveral pints I needed desperately!). It’s not the first, or 2nd… or even the 5th place I’d head to in Camden but it’ll do nicely if you’re on a bit of a crawl… to see or bands or not!

All right, it’s won me over. For cheap eats– this is the place to go. I know their service isn’t top notch. Actually I wouldn’t even consider giving it a notch. It’s cheap, it’s fool proof, it’s Belushi’s. Enough said. Well– I guess it’s also because I don’t have a choice-my friends think one of the blondes that work here are cute.

I didn’t realise there was a youth hostel in Camden. Here it is. St Christopher’s Inn is the youth hostel name and during the week the cheapest price is £16 a night, and i think a twin room is £28 per bed(might be wrong.) I don’t know why the chain is called Belushi’s. I hope John Belushi’s family is getting something out of it. I went in for the burger deal, burger and a pint for £6. However it only cost £5.25 so i was pleasantly surprised. The burger looked fine on the outside but was very pink in the middle, cooked on a hot plate that was a bit too hot I suppose. I ate it though, cos it was freezing outside and I was very hungry. The Fosters was typical Fosters, ie tastes awful, makes you think of urine and cider all mixed up together with beer. The toilets were a bit basic but everything worked. There are lots of tvs showing sports in this place and sofas and a pool table in the back, and it was deserted when I went in at about 5pm on sunday. I didn’t try the cocktails but they looked very good value for money, about £3 during happy hour.

Am not overly impressed with the cocktails. Had two jugs during happy hour and could hardly taste the alcohol in them. That is the problem with cocktails and happy hour — bars short you on alcohol contents either to raise profits or to steel profits from the company(more likely). It is quite sad really, so my advice to all is keep your eyes open. I must admit that the burger I had in belushis tasted quite delicious. I try not to eat pub grub if I do not know a place well, but did not want to drink on an empty stomach. Belushis is a chain based around the UK and actually cater for back-packers. Each bar has a hostel and it is popular with Aussie’s. Is a fun place to start the night, but after a couple of drinks it is definitely time to move on to somewhere more lively. Try the crescent, which has very cheap drinks and then move onto koko.

This is quite a nice bar if you want to stop off after a hectic shopping trip and have a coctail to de-stress. They regularly have happy hour on cocktails which is always nice. The have an OK menu for nibbles. On the bad side the music tends to be a little too heavy, and it’s a bit grim and dark inside. The staff are not rude, but not overly friendly either — but thats kind of standard for Camden.

Great staff of cool rock kids, catering to a largely backpacker/hostelling audience. Cheaps drinks all week — £2 beers. Cheap food. Live music some nights. A fun atmosphere for the young and young at heart. Closer to Mornington Crescent tube than Camden Town tube. Ask them to point you in the direction of their fave kebab shop across the road — apparently the best in the area!
