I really like this café, is just across the road from St Cristopher place but it has a nice atmisphere and the coffee is excellenr, just as you would get in Italy.

I enjoyed a very pleasant haloumi wrap for £3.50 at Café 88, sat on the tables outside, in the sunshine. The coffee was pretty good and they have massive cups if you opt for a large. The size of soup bowls. The service was very friendly. The quirky thing about this place is that it doubles up as an exhibition space with the walls covered with new works(which are yours to keep if you fancy forking out hundreds of quid). The fillings at the counter look very tasty and fresh, a reassurance that your food is made to order.

Café 88 has been open for about a year and a half at the time of this review. Not far from the north end of St Christopher’s Place, it sells a variety of Mediterranean sandwiches(among them beef steak, soujok, brie, mixed cold cuts, tuna mayo, Mexican beef) and salads(Lebanese, Greek, bresaola, smoked salmon, etc). I had a tuna salad today that was large, tasty, and worth the £5 eat-in cost. Their beverages include several fresh fruit juices and milkshakes. It’s large, bright, spacious, and modern inside. There are about 6 or 7 tables outside on the pavement as well. The café has made a bit of a name for itself by showcasing contemporary art on its inside walls. These change every six weeks, according to the café.
