So this is a cute little café on the corner of the main high street in Morden. Growing up, this place was a video store and my Mecca on a Friday night as a kid in the 90s! However the café is very fitting for the space now. I’ve only been here for tea and coffee and I have to say, the coffee was divine. It reminded me of the coffee I had in Eastern Europe when travelling — strong, rich and fragrant! Knocks these high street chains out of the park! I haven’t had food here but it seems quite reasonably priced and my mother frequents here with her friends and she’s told me it’s good. Similar to cafes in Europe, they have an alcohol licence where you can have an alcoholic drink with your food but only if you purchase food which avoids it turning into a bar. To the side they have a kebab shop as well which is open into the night. It’s quite a lovely place, always busy! My only chagrin is that I think the cups should be bigger!

I wanna thank the staff here as it was five minutes before closing and KFC told me their toilets were close and the staff was nice enough to let me use their facilities! Which was nice and clean! So before I left I purchased a caramel slice to go and it was £1.95 but a good size slice and very yummy. I plan on coming back to try out their menu! and so I did one month later — I had a vegetarian breakfast which was a pea and sweetcorn potatoe sausage, fried egg, mushrooms, baked beans, two slices of tomato and two hash browns with a cup of tea. Was quite lovely and was even better sitting outside enjoying my meal in the sun. The staff were really friendly, they were going to let me sit outside without even purchasing anything and the waiters was constantly cleaning tables and making sure customers were happy.

Jacket potato with cheese and beans. Not difficult to get wrong, but café la lavella made it extra good! Staff were really friendly, it only cost £3.90, the portion was very generous and it came with a delicious side salad, with olives and gherkins! I’m a very happy lunch customer! Make sure to take cash, because they don’t take cards.

Good coffee shop if you want to have a decent coffee in London at a reasonable price. Located opposite to Morden underground. Excellent location to discover real London and get away from central touristic London at least for a couple of hours. It takes about 40 min. to reach Morden from Trafalgar Square(Northern line), train change in Kennington. About a 30 minute journey from Victoria tube station, train change in Stockwell.
