One of the most fulfilling meals I had in London while on my trip. We ordered one of the combinations that’s basically a sampler platter(I forgot the exact name, but it costs around 15 pounds) and we were stuffed between 3 people. The food was so good and we were surprised when the bill came because it was so affordable. We had to come back a second time when we were leaving London. The employees there are very friendly and recognized us when we came back. If you’re near Camberwell and want a fulfilling meal, come here!

Damn fine food. The veggie burger is properly nice, and the onion rings are great. Quite definitely THE best customer service I have ever seen. Thought I had lost my watch(it was at home, I was a silly git) they let me watch through their cctv to make sure I had it when I left, and were just amazingly accommodating when it was my drunken fault.

Bolu was a local legend in the ‘90s, way back in the days when getting a drink after 11pm(or even getting a drink on a Sunday afternoon!) was kind of a challenge. You could always get a surreptitious can or two from Bolu. Now we have 24-hour drinking or whatever it’s supposed to be, I pretty much never find myself in Bolu. I can vaguely remember facetiously ordering«chips in the pitta», as the menu had it, many years ago, with a flatmate who I didn’t like very much. Actually, the fact that I associate this place with this ex-flatmate of mine is probably the reason I never go to Bolu any more. I really didn’t like that guy.

Bolu bolu bolu: there’s nowhere quite like it! What looks like an ordinary kebab shop front hides a charming, and altogether random, restaurant out-back. The wood-panelled walls and wine served in carafes will cause you to forget that you’re in Camberwell, and make you think you’re on holiday in a random Ryanair destination that you can’t quite place but you know is definitely foreign. A perhaps surprising aspect of this restaurant is the food, which is delicious despite its kebab shop façade — Lebonese food is the cuisine and I would certainly recommend the houmous. If you don’t fancy the restaurant, but have that end-of-night fast food craving then Bolu is the best on offer in the area. The chips and cheese with garlic mayo is my particular favourite.
