Still very good, they have recently refurbished so the décor matches the food, both very pleasant. This is a local regular I will stick with unless they change the recipe. Full price is quite reasonable but if you have a taste card you can really have a very affordable feast.

Life is too short for Bengal Spice. Ordered a thali through hungry house(pre-ordered). Arrived with dishes missing and one dish leaking over the others. Rang to complain got no apology but they did say they would send a replacement meal. I was asked to produce the leaky carrier bag of curry as proof rather than being given the benefit of the doubt. Replacement meal was also incomplete and cold. They didn’t answer the phone the second time and I had to call the delivery persons mobile. Still no apology. Food that was there was mediocre. Go somewhere else. Do yourself a favour.

The main ingredient of every dish seemed to be some kind of tamarind/sugar gloop. Made us feel a bit sick. Won’t be going back.

Slow delivery. Mediocre food. Left out part of our order. Too expensive for the quality and quantity. Many dishes lack spice and are too sweet. Kind of gross. Gave us a tub of pure yogurt instead of raita, for instance.

Petit restaurant indien assez sympa.

Excellent curry house and definitely the best of those on West End Lane. Bright, well-decorated restaurant which is as far as you can get from flock-wallpaper clichés as possible. Every time I’ve eaten here I’ve had a good experience. It has a broad range of starters, the usual Indian classics on the main course, and a wide selection of vegetarian dishes. The clearness of the menu, the readiness of the staff to offer suggestions and of the chefs to provide alternatives, mean it’s easy to cater for a group with different tastes. Cobra and Kingfisher available(of course!) and it has wines which suggest a bit more thought than you normally see in an Indian restaurant.
