We stayed at the Apex hotel so it was a no brainer to give it a try. Great service, great food, great location, decent prices. Disclaimer. If you’re not in the area, maybe it’s not worth the trip, but if you’re close or staying at the hotel, it’s a wonderful option. Cheers

Probably some of the worst service I’ve ever had. Came in for a drink, we’re 3 other tables with people. Waited 15 minutes for our drinks after going to the front and talking to the manager and then had to go to the front to get our bill. No wonder it was the only place that was empty

Just in for a light bite to eat. Nice secluded seating area to the right of reception for a drink. It did look a little tired and furniture could do with a refresh.

Food was not bad, very decent, I’d rate the food a 3.5 star rating. Went here for a business lunch. Service was very very slow despite the fact that we were pressed for time. Nice high ceilings that made conversation easy. They ran out of scallops, which was the first choice appetizer for 4 of the 6 diners. To top it off they brought the wrong coats to us after our lunch. Bathrooms a long walk from the restaurant. Server was friendly however.

Addendum is a bright airy restaurant located on a rather drab side street in the City. I say that, but if you are a history buff St. Olave’s Church is just up the road. The cemetery has Samuel Pepys and Mother Goose buried in it(not quite sure about that Mother Goose thing). Addendum screams corporate. It’s upscale enough that you wouldn’t bring along your mates for a laugh, and expensive enough that you would probably only go on expenses. At lunch time it’s an all-suit affair. The menu is what I would describe as British Modern. Essentially it’s British food with French cooking techniques — an increasingly common menu here in the City which I think is rather unfortunate. Where’s the innovative food from the rest of the world? It seems everyone is serving essentially the same thing these days, which I find rather uninspiring. Having said that, these menus are forcing me to go for the more odd choices on offer and in this instance I chose as my starter the ‘Bath Chap’(GBP6) which was a sort of pig’s cheek terrine surrounded by a thin batter and deep fried. The pig’s cheeks were extremely tender and the outer crust was not at all greasy. It was served with some excellent capers and a very nice relish which I very much enjoyed. For my main I ordered the Salmon, Winter Cabbage and Red Wine Reduction. It very surprisingly arrived with some sort of foam on top which was not mentioned on the menu. I don’t know if it was supposed to be there all along or if one of the chef’s all of a sudden had a Heston Blumenthal moment. The foam had the taste of something familiar that I couldn’t quite put my finger on, but the texture itself was very offputting. It also did not have the advertised red wine sauce and instead arrived with a very sweet parsnip purée. The salmon was oddly watery. It must have been seared and then poached(or vice versa)? However, it did still taste very good. The green cabbage was excellent — dark, green and ultra tasty. My companions were also satisfied with their dishes of venison and mushroom ravioli. The wine list was expensive with most bottles coming in at £25+. Overall, the service and food were excellent however, I would not rush to go back. It was just a little too expensive for my taste(even on a corporate account) and I feel there are other restaurants offering a similar experience for less. Décor: Upscale, bright and sunny. Prices: Expensive. Food: Very good and tasty. Portion are fair. Good For: I would go back perhaps for a special occasion corporate lunch.

Addendum are now offering a 50% discount for up to 10 people as a way to demonstrate their corporate and social responsibility and Green credentials. By partnering with Carbon Free Dining( ) they are taking part in an initiative which is backed by the United Nations Billion Tree Campaign. This means for every diner that claims the 50% discount voucher a tree is planted to offset the carbon associated with the production, preparation and transportation of the meals ingredients. To claim the 50% off and help the environment visit . The carbon footprint of a meal is between 10kg and 30kg, yet in the lifetime of a tree it will offset about 1000kg of carbon.

We went to Addendum as it was inside the hotel we were staying at. We got a 50 percent off food deal from TopTable. The food was okay. Our appetizer was pretty good(egg wrapped in crab meat and then deep fried), but both of our main courses were just okay. I had the mushroom risotto, and the boyfriend had the ribeye steak. He ordered it medium rare, but it came out well done. Do people in London not know what medium rare is? This seems to happen more often than it should.

addendum is a beautifully trendy restaurant which is part of the ape city of london hotel and is located in the finance district of london. the surroundings for the restaurant are lovely and the food served was of outstanding quality. whilst staying at the hotel recently, i ate here frequently and was always extremely pleased with my experience. the staff also offered excellent service at all times and made my time at the restaurant one to remember. prices are fair when considering the surroundings are actually quite fancy and the drink prices are also reasonable. the restaurant is located near to the tower hill underground station and just a few yards away from tower bridge so is a great choice of place for a date, a stroll and since there is a hotel attatched, its convenient if you get lucky!
