There’s two Utility shops on Bold Street — one holds larger items of furniture to complete your dream home, and this gift boutique holds all the ‘things’ you never knew you wanted but now totally need. As a bit of a hoarder of said ‘things’, this is my dream shop. I could easily walk out having spent all my money and still catch something shiny out of the corner of my eye that I suddenly need. The shop is set out with plenty of space between displays, meaning it doesn’t have that tatty feel some gift shops can present. The wall of cards offer a whole range of sentiments for your next occasion, and it’s books galore in the centre of the shop, from dot to dots of famous landmarks to beautiful dog portraits. A goldmine for those who dislike Christmas shopping, as you can seriously find something for everyone. As others have said, it’s a bit on the pricey side — they currently stock an amazing landmark colouring in sheet which is basically the size of a small child, but for £9.99 you can feel the urge to go home and Google it, just in case it comes out cheaper elsewhere. The perfect indulgent shop to buy something that little bit different, whether it’s for a loved one or just a treat for yourself.

I love this shop. The best shop of gift in the city! You can find any gift for any price! The range of products are large! baby clothes, furniture, books, jewelry, bags, pens and all sorts of little bits and pieces… original and cute! The staff are very friendly.

One of the best places to look for presents in Liverpool is Utility Design Gift Boutique. Based on the same street as the company’s Home Store, it’s a brilliant store that sells a fun mix of cool and kitsch homeware and gifts. There’s lamps, cushions and clocks in a rainbow of colours alongside smaller products like ornaments, silver letters, Marmite aprons, mugs and tins. They also stock lovely candles, books, journals, notebooks, greeting cards, wrapping paper, baby gifts and Liverpool memorabilia. My favourite things in the store however, are probably the nostalgic, rabbit jelly moulds and the gorgeous Tatty Divine necklaces!
