Once you get past the crowd of smokers outside and get inside the Mason’s Arms the first thing you are struck by is the sheer size of the pub, that is once your eyes actually adjust to the dim gloomy lighting inside.
The bar staff are friendly but dont provide much help as such. they take your order quickly and present you with your drinks equally quickly.
The food availble is inexpensive and childrens meals are on offer too. At the moment on offer is a «pint o’ chips» which is actually pretty good if you want a snack and dont fancy a full meal.
The pub is quiet during the day but bustling and noisy during the night time. The locals are of all ages and seem to enjoy the pub, and all it has to offer, a great deal. Its a little rough around the edges but once you get past that, its a great pub.

Large but gloomy, the Mason’s Arms (or just Mason’s according to the sign) feels like a roadside café, a pub of dark carpets and children’s menus. The service from the barmaid was that terrifying kind of aggressive friendliness you often get in Liverpool, («No! Go and sit down and I’ll bring the ice to you! It’s not a problem. I said sit down!»), but the food was cheap and did the trick of bloating my stomach to the size of a watermelon.
It’s probably unfair to criticise a place’s quiz machine, but the one here is filled with such an array of mind-​twisting games, the kind that take forty minutes to work out and then take all your money. Me felt fick.

This pub has only very recently starting to serve food. They’re part of a chain of pubs and you can get 2 for £6 on certain menu items; which works out at very good value if you go in groups of 2 or multiples thereof.
It’s a big pub with lots of comfortale seats, and it has been redone inside too lately so it looks smart and modern. There are often also deals on alcoholic drinks so it’s always worth looking at the posters behind the bar or just asking the staff.
It’s a good pub but not great; maybe it’s because they’re trying to get into the swing of things again after reopening with a new imageI don’t know.

This was once a traditional two room pub but like many others is now a huge ‘barn’ of neon and glitter, fine if you like that sort of thing.
The age group of the patrons is now at the barely legal level so if you’re 30 plus you certainly will be in the minority hence I normally view it in passing although I have occassionally wandered in and sampled the lager which was passable but on the steep side in the pricing stakes considering you can get a pint in the area for as little as £1−50.
If it’s loud music and brash surroudings this pub will suit but otherwise it’s a big no.
