A blizzard last week didn’t stop these great guys from delivering flowers for a very-important birthday in Brighton. They actually drove halfway up the motorway to collect the flowers from a flower distributor — with the snow raging. Above and beyond the call of duty. Also the flowers still look first_day fresh after a week. Cannot recommend them enough.

Of all of the various flower stands in Brighton, The Flower Stand beside St. John’s Church in Hove is one of the more popular, for good reason: it is one of the cheapest and best quality flower shops in the area. With a great selection, cheap and well-made bouquets, and a beautiful array on flowers outside the front, The Flower Stand is wonderful to stroll by as well as shop in. A great addition to the area, and a great shop to buy the prettiest of flowers. The Flower Stand is the sister shop to a greater store in Shoreham, and thus is always well-stocked with popular and beautiful flowers. Amazingly, for work of this quality, it is surprisingly cheap, although the larger and more extravagant bouquets are quite costly. Even so, the value for money here is great: each bouquet is a mixture of flowers, different every week, so there’s always something different to look at. As well as their bouquets and other assortments, The Flower Stand also offers more traditional flower set-ups, like organising arrangements for special occasions and the like: I understand their service is very good, although I haven’t tried it myself. In the end, having a flower shop of this quality, just at the beginning of Hove, is a great addition to the local shopping scene, and is wonderful to walk by on a beautiful summer’s day!

The Flower Stand is exactly the kind of florist you’d expect to stumble across in Paris, Amsterdam or Rome. Housed outside St John’s Church in Hove, it’s an impressive looking stall with gorgeous bouquets and buckets of flowers beautifully displayed on the pavement. If you look closely you’ll see solitary bunches of tulips, dahlias and gerberas but really, The Flower Stand is about bouquets with wow factor. If money was no option, I’d go there every Monday and buy their Bouquet of the Week for £35. This week’s theme isTimeless Lillies and evergreen! As it is, I usually walk past admiring the dazzling array of colours, petals and leaves and breathing in their heady scent.

This tiny florist will be familiar to anyone who’s strolled along Church Road from the Brighton end. Situated at the back of St. Johns Church The Flower Stand is well known for its quality service and beautiful arrangements. As it’s the sister of Shoreham’s The Flower Shop you can be sure to find all the usual flower varieties and a few more also. If you’ve got a special occasion you can place an order at their workshop by calling the above number. Expect friendly service and cheap prices.
