I wandered in en route home from work and thought I would treat myself. The food was alright but I felt it was over priced, I was hoping to split it over 2 nights but there was not that much curry to do that. I can never finish a full curry but managed easily. Won’t be rushing back.

Being an American — who loves good eats — studying in Glasgow wasn’t exactly the best place to pick for a foodie. That aside, The Full Bhoona is an a-ok pizza joint in the west end perfect for those late-night drunk pizza runs, or if you live in Murano Street Student Village. Location is perfect! The menu honestly is pretty standard brit pizza fare, they offer sandwiches, curries, some other indian food and drinks along with a few sparse appetizers at fair prices. If you’re not from the UK, it might seem strange to see pizza + Indian in the same place, but it somehow works. What pulled me in the first time was the merry shop owner, a round pasty woman with a decent sense of humor. She immediately pinned me as American — from California — and insisted I try her food. Her demeanor was better than the food was, but I wasn’t disappointed. All in all, Bhoona ain’t bad, but honestly, the location just can’t be beat if you travel Queen Margaret to get to uni. Perfect for take-out. Just don’t expect really tasty food.

I tried The Full Bhoona for what I would imagine is the same reason most others do: because it is my nearest Indian take-away. I will also be coming back for the same reason. It offers standard take-away and while not outstanding it is definitely worth the cheap price, made 10% cheaper if you spend over £12.00 and have a student ID card. A wide menu of take-away regulars going beyond Indian into the realm of burgers and pizzas for example mean that whatever you fancy, The Full Bhoona will have something for you. Furthermore, it will be quick enough to be convenient but long enough for you to know that it isn’t just sitting under a heat lamp until it is ordered. The man who took my order was unwaveringly friendly and he is part of the reason I will be choosing The Full Bhoona for my next take-away. You probably won’t be overawed by the quality but if you were expecting to be then perhaps a take-away wasn’t the best idea. Filling food with plenty of flavour, friendly staff and delivery service mean you can’t go wrong.

As far as your Indian takeaways go this place is pretty half decent. Without standing out from the crown either in quality or, more importantly, lack of, the Full Bhoona offers a decent fare of all things takeaway grub like in nature. Located on Queen Margaret Drive and nestled between an assortment of cutsy cafes, fruit shops and various emporiums of the arty and crafty the Boon is far from full but a good shout if your looking for dependable takeaway nosh. Alas dear sirs, one feels that your Boon is semi and not quite full but a fine effort never the less… hey and the owner is a friendly chap too which helps.
