Oh, how the familiar smell of Subway bread baking makes my heart sing! As sad as that line is, it really does make me happy… wha? For those of you who have been here, you know there’s really nothing special about the décor, the employees are nice enough and no matter what country you’re in, the bread and veg are all the same, but there is just something about the veggie delite that sends my taste buds in to a frenzy! I will always love subway!

There are no surprises or shocks awaiting in this Subway which makes it all that different from the rest in Glasgow. However, it is super handy, often very quiet(I like), is open till silly o’clock in the morning(even more handy) and offers the Subway selection. Admittedly, you would not like to live on Subways and hopefully not even eat them on a regular basis. Yet, this place does offer a reasonably healthy food option compared to all the chippies and kebab shops that are open at 1am after leaving Curlers in a ‘tequila nightcap’ haze. For those non-boozers, you can enjoy a fairly quiet lunchtime naughty treat in here while sitting at the high stools and watching people meander up and down Ruthven Lane. This corner location on Byres Road and Ruthven Lane, really does give it extra brownie points with me. It’s all in the detail baby.
