This was a let-down. It may be typical of what you find in Glasgow. But coming from the US, it was not up to the Subway locations were are used to. The quality of steak in steak and cheese poorer; with a lot of fat and gristle. My wife ordered the salad; it was not chopped and had less ingredients to choose from. The same was true for the ingredients to go on the subs. We didn’t go to any other Subway locations in Great Britain after this experience.

I got myself a pulled pork foot long. I think it’s a special as I’ve never seen it here before. On oated honey bread, lashings of barbecue sauce and chipotle sauce, I was starving to tuck in. Because of my bus being full, I waited until I got home. Even cold it tasted great. I’m sure it cost me around £5.99 if I’m right. Place looked clean. Union street is next to central station, so very handy, very close.

So i thought i would pop in here before a cinema trip for a quick dinner, was inspired and interested about their new mango chicken. The picture was very appetizing but unfortunately this is where this visit goes south. Firstly it took forever to be served(a good 5 minutes) even though there was only one person in front of me. When i was eventually served the orders were incorrect and was mischarged as i wanted two meals but they basically gave me a cookie and tried to upsell it to me. After letting the lady know she spoke very quickly at me in an exasperated tone ocacsionally throwing in parts of another language. Very bad customer service. Eventually gave up and sorted it out with another member of staff later… after sitting down at a table which needed cleared of rubbish just like the sevral other dirty tables surrounding me. Food was fresh and tasty tho. Overall not a great visit, totally ruined by the one member of staff and lazyness of cleaning.

It’s a Subway, but it does have an excellent location. Staff vary but this type of place does have a high turnover. Great if you fancy a quick bite, but definitely not a place to take your significant other

As if to prove my point on the friendlinees in this establishment, it has come to this reporters attention that on Sunday night 20÷3÷11 an expensive blackberry torch mobile phone was found by the security guard who regularly works there. Having seen the lady who owned the phone he then ran after her to return it. Well done Nightshift Guy.

Love this Subway, actually its the only one I have ever been to?! Because I used to get off the train at Central, or should I say get on the train. Yes, this subway is in supreme location for train users situated right at the entrance of the station. So when you are standing waiting on that all important train, and its due to arrive in 5 minutes, it is a toss up for greggs, chippy or subway. I have tried them all and I can say that 10 minutes post eating, you will always feel best from going in the direction of subway. Not only that get all the salad and you’ll have got some of your five a day in too. Genius! There is enough time to grab yourself a six inch sub with all the trimmings and some honey mustard. Yum. I can say this for the sandwich artists, they are fast!

Just another Subway? Perhaps. This one is notable for its location which is optimally primed for commuters diving in and out of Central Station. A Quiznos is also a few doors away now which is not quite robbing this place of their customers, but certainly attracting more and more attention. You will find everything you would expect in here and if you go at the wrong time. you might find a little bit more. This one is open at awkward times that capitalise on punters spilling out of nearby pubs and clubs and has been known to include a bouncer at the door, with hassle kicking off and generally awful abuse towards the staff not uncommon. I think I would rather go to Quiznos actually.
