I visited here yesterday for lunch, we arrived around 12.30pm; the restaurant was quiet and we were seated immediately with our drink orders taken. We got two bottles of water, then made our way to the buffet, there was a large selection of food to choose from and everything was freshly cooked and delicious, especially the chicken skewers and noodles, my only complaint would be that the curry sauce was almost lukewarm but it was tasty as usual and the rest of the food was hot and changed frequently when it was empty. I think that offering more desserts would be good, especially more options of ice cream and cakes but I wouldn’t let that put you off, the food is very enjoyable and good value for money. Plates were cleared away efficiently and the staff were helpful, paying for the meal was quick and easy and I highly recommend this chinese buffet if you are looking for somewhere to eat in Glasgow.

Well I will start with the negative first 1. The chicken curry omg what is the chicken meant to be. It was slimy, no texture and resembles a boggie from your nose. Only way I can explain it I give it 2 out of ten. 2. They do this sort of sliced potato and peppers but it is so bloody soggy its unreal not nice. 3. Staff are also up your arse every 2 minutes. I once had just put a fork down for a minute and it was plate gone omg give me a chance 4. Something new I seen was you are only allowed 1 and a half hours per sitting first place I seen like that. 5. Nothing to tell you what kind of cake you are eating. But on a good side 1. Chicken balls was good as usual 2. There are two types of chips with a new extra crispy one nice 3. An old favourite of mine is Satay sticks is still there and nice but I don’t think anything made fresh when you compare chicken in satay to curry I’d say it’s ok to go to but there many places to give better quality curry, your choice

I was here again today. I love this place. Feels like been coming here for years. Maybe 8 years or more. Best in town for budget Chinese buffet. They don’t let you use their card machine unless you spend £10. So bring cash.

Kings lodge Walking in here you get the feeling nothing has ever changed apart from the table covers. A very late 1970’s /1980’s trashed look about the place, dark and very green. The reality everything that was on the buffet counter was battered & deep fried, There was a good selection on offer but everything looked the same, just different sauce poured over all the battered items, apart from the dry noodles. At the hot container the food was served in small containers that could only hold a few portions of food. Front of house staff looked clean and wore some sort of uniform, but could see the kitchen on the way to the toilets and could see the cook only wearing an apron as a uniform & dirty tracksuit. Sadly I’ve yet to see anywhere in Glasgow produce any good Chinese food.

Visited this buffet place on a Saturday evening. The food was mostly all processed junk and very limited, especially the meats(only 3 types of meat, which were breaded chicken, chicken balls and beef), which none were marinated in any sauces. Most of the buffet food was made up of different carbohydrates such as rices, noodles, chips and prawn crackers. There was separate sauces, gravy, curry and sweet and sour, which were mediocre at best. Service was terrible and drinks order was wrong. I’ll be avoiding this place in the future and urge others to do the same. BEWARE

One can only suppose that at one time the king kept his animals here — hence the name. Let’s work from an honest starting point. Pretty much all Chinese buffets are crappy. It was with a sense of dread that the guys in my football team plumped for this establishment for the stomach lining session of our night out. The staff were alright, but the place was overcrowded, the cutlery was strangely sticky, and the food was the processed mush you’d expect.

As Chinese buffets go this is impressive: amazing value and the food tastes as it ought to, each dish retains its individuality and does not, as in some other buffets, morph into a sameness; there’s also a take-away option, as much as you can fit into a tub– try it.

Firstly Cheap & Cheerfull doesn’t mean Crap Quality for all the other reviewers marked this above one star… OMG you must have extremely low expectations to mark this place highly yes i respect peoples opinions but seriously… this place was utter waste of time effort & money 1stly the staff minus one youngish girl were rude grumpy & ignorant… c’mon who can actually get a tea order wrong ?? My partner was given essentially a pot of warmish water!!! With a weak-assed chinese tea bag(she asked for english tea) The food… oh dear oh dear… an enviromental health nightmare Hot food next to food that had gone cold Not to mention the undercooked chicken and non descript seafood! I usually write good humored light hearted reviews But due to the fact i spent two hours back & forth to the loo i feel warranted in letting everyone one know how manky bigging pokey-hole Not fit for a dog this place is… as for pro’s & conns …its a conn Homeless folk probably eat better out the bins… but not the bins fae this place, even glasglows homeless have more sence than go near this joint I dont even know why its still business! Suffice to say i payed and left even as the sour faced manageresss came over to whindge«why you no like food»… Felt like saying coz its minging tastless half cooked at best. But i bit my lip begrudgingly paid although i only ate 2 forkfulls of rice a few mingings mini rolls and some chicken on a stick!!! AVOID!!! Kings lodge… more like Mings Hole!

Usually I give buffets a miss, because I know myself well enough to realise that I’ll over-eat just because I can and try to fit dessert on top of that too! This visit was no exception, let me tell you. On this occasion, I was treating my dad to a thank you meal and he just loves a good buffet, so I directed him towards the King’s Lodge. In my estimation, it is possibly the best Chinese buffet restaurant in the centre of town. There’s a great selection, and the salad bar is always fully stocked –a plus for me, because I always like to start with a prawn cocktail! The food also seems less salty than places like China Buffet King, which is a big plus. There were quite a few items running low when we got there, but this was just after lunchtime so that’s perfectly understandable. Items were restocked over the course of our meal, so we didn’t miss out on anything. And no buffet is complete without the super-duper ice cream and jelly combo with fruit and cake! I know, my inner child is showing. Anyway, we both left satisfied with a good, old fashioned food waddle(you know, when you’re so full you can only manage a weird shuffle). Couldn’t bear to eat anything until the next morning. As this place is conveniently located next to Central Station, and across from all the bus stops for those heading south, it is a good place to go after a hard day’s shop when you’re just about ready to go home and can’t face cooking. The prices are pretty reasonable too, especially on a Sunday.

From the outside it looks like a quaint little restaurant but on the inside it is very cramped. The tables are too close together and the buffet was four feet away from the closet table, for two people to get past it was a tight squeeze. The staff clean up the floors with a pan and brush and at one point I saw one staff member clean a table with the same one she cleaned the floor with. The food was cold to luke warm in temperature, the desert plates were warm and the deserts themselves were in an open refrigerator. I felt the place was cheap for the amount of food I saw some people take but from the standards, taste and quality of the food, each helping must cost about a pound. The only moderately good side to this place was the ice cream machine but that had remnants of other people’s deserts stuck to the ice cream spout. Unless you want food poisoning, which is what I got, do not go there.

Even one star is too generous! The food was revolting and cold. To actually get to the food I had to shimmy past people coming the other way with plates of food. The chicken in the chicken curry was defiantly, hand on my heart, no chicken! When I got up from the table, on three occasions I nearly tripped over a woman crouching on the floor with a dust pan and brush. Service!!! They don’t know the meaning of the word, they were arrogant and impatient.

This is an excellent little Chinese buffet restaurant. There’s plenty of food on offer(although be careful, some of the labels are occasionally mixed up) and the staff are pretty helpful. Price-wise, it’s reasonably cheap for central Glasgow. As an aside, every time I eat there I find a fair number of Chinese people also dining; a suggestion of quality, perhaps? :)

OMG!!! As food goes, there is a nice selection, nice food, don’t expect anything out of this world. As staff goes, well, as rude, grumpy, bad mannered and annoying as I’ve EVER seen in my entire live, horrible experience, food was nice but was totally ruined by the waitresses, I couldn’t wait to leave!!! Will NEVER be back! AVOIDAVOIDAVOID

For what it is, an all you can eat Chinese buffet — the king’s lodge is magic. I’ve been twice now at lunch time and the selection is amazing, but make sure you go up the back of the shop as there is some more food hidden there. The food is no frills Chinese food, but that’s what you expect from this kind of place. However, as generic Chinese buffets go — this is one of the better ones.

As Chinese buffets go, this place is magic. Myself and my work colleague fancied a Mcdonalds for lunch, but the smell of this place reeled us in. There was a great selection of food, although some of the best stuff was hidden up the back so its probably advisable to have a proper scope out of the place before you fill yourself up with other stuff. If you like to be greedy now and again — give this place a try. One of the best Chinese buffets I’ve been to. However, I now feel a bit giddy and want to go for a wee nap, but I doubt my boss will like that!

Kings Lodge is right next to the entrance of Central Station, another Chinese buffet restaurant in an already saturated market. The décor in here is more traditional and less canteen-like than rivals China Buffet King. Some more unusual dishes are on offer here, such as seaweed, which has a very strange taste. I’m not sure I like it. The food is good, there’s nothing wrong with it, but for a wider selection of more common food, I’d walk the extra couple of blacks to China Buffet King.

usual stodge which is mainly cold or luke warm from the buffet. good selection of meals but they just are too cold to eat. the waiters wouldn’t know what the word ‘service’ means if you gave them a dictionary. i wasn’t even told i could have a desert and only noticed there was a selection of deserts when i was walking out. the food tasted below average too. it was dried out. i ate only after i returned the first plate i took to let them see how cold their food was. wouldn’t go back as was quite expensive for what you got. and service was bad. think they rely on commuters running for their train next door at glasgow central for their business. doubt they’d get repeat customers otherwise. good location for a dodgy chinese buffet restaurant. no wonder they say ‘eat all you can eat’, what they should add is, ‘because it saves us from throwing it in the bin where it was due to go.’

This is an above average Chinese buffet restaurant. There is a large selection of different dishes, including a number of vegetarian meals. There is also a large selection of good quality deserts, including cakes, and some very nice ice cream.
