I had an outstanding experience at Specsavers. We are on holiday from the US in Scotland. I broke my glasses and needed them to be able to drive. The next day we were going to Mull where a car would be required. We went into the store and asked if they can turn around new glasses for me in a day.
Amy, of the Specsavers staff went to work immediately, found frames in the the store that fit my lenses and installed them for me. She was amazingly responsive and knowledgeable about the store’s stock. Not only did this enable me to get functional glasses in less than a day, but it was relatively inexpensive and enabled me to have trifocals — rather than the distance glasses I asked for when I came into the store.

Staff was nice enough. Was able to get a walk in appointment and picked out some frames.
My annoyance comes when I was told when my prescription would be ready. First I was told it could potentially be next day because I have a simple precipitation but most likely two days. After not hearing anything the second day I called just to check. Then it turned into the next day but most likely over the weekend.
I’m fine for waiting but don’t give me an estimate if you actually have no idea. Not sure how «possibly next day» turns into «five days».

Having worn geeky glasses for a good part of my adult life, I thought It might be time to upgrade to contacts. Have I gone mad, you might be wondering, but in fact, I have not. I’ve just not been the greatest at keeping my glasses clean and am tired of viewing the world through foggy eyes. Add to that the fact that I think I finally managed to somehow step on or sit on my favourite pair and I wound up at Specsavers.
The staff at this particular Specsavers are truely a patient bunch. I managed to walk in and was taken in straight away to have my eyes tested and then to have them fitted for lenses. Pretty impressive stuff here! I was shown how to put them in like a pro and then left to my own devices for as long as I needed to make sure I was able to not only get them in but to get them out. I was promised I wouldn’t be able to leave the store until I could prove that I could do both. I jokingly asked what time they shut for the evening and if they had any plans, because I felt I was going to need a few hours.
A few minutes passed and voila! I managed to fake my way in to being a contacts wearer! Chuffed with myself, they sent me on my way to the register to enroll in a monthly buy type deal, which is a pretty sweet deal, compared to other shops. They also reminded me that I could get a discount off glasses should I decide I also wanted a pair along with my contacts.
All in all, this particular Specsavers is my go to for all things eyesight. A friendly staff and a clean shop makes it all worth it! Check them out!

I honestly can say I had the most delightful experience that’ve ever had at any optician here. I have been wearing glasses since I was nine and contacts since I was fourteen, so I’ve been through many eye exams and chosen more frames than I can count. I am visiting Glasgow for a few months and had recently run out of contacts. I took to wearing my frames as a last resort, but the prescription was obviously in need of an update and the glasses had seen better days. I basically just wanted to find the nearest place with the best value for money around. I checked Boots (too expensive), then Vision Express (too rude), then lastly I called this Specsavers location and they seemed just right.
Making my appointment over the phone was very simple and they had the exact time I wanted open. A few days later a received a text to remind me of my appointment and the very next day I was in the exam room. The exam was very standard, I liked that the optometrist explained everything before doing anything. I was also asked about my lifestyle so that recommendations of frames, lenses, and contacts could be made.
I have no complaints about the exam, but the part I was really pleased about was choosing my new frames. A lovely associate was paired with me to help on my quest. I am very picky in general, but especially with anything expensive like new glasses. The wonderful associate, Kate, was extremely accommodating. She paid attention to my preferences and used my comments to help me find not one, but two new frames that I adore. It never felt as though she was just trying to push me into a sale or just trying to rush me out of the shop. I am very grateful she let me take me time and that she was there to help with a usually daunting task.

The newest addition to Glasgow, this Specsavers is my new branch.
Chosen on the basis that I walk past it everyday, I now enjoy going with the friendly and welcoming (and it has to be said, attractive) staff.
Literally millions of glasses to choose from, with competitive prices for students and lenswearers, Specsavers is the only place to go in the UK for my money if your eyes aren’t fully functioning, like mines.
Nice comfy layout, with enough room to browse around and plenty of seating.
