There’s a reason every review here is 5 stars, this is by far the best barbers I’ve been to, and I doubt I’ll ever stop going! They’ve now expanded to 2 shops, the original is at the top of Finnieston not far from the McDonalds and the new shop is further down near Old Salty’ s. Scott and Lisa own the shops, and they’re easily the friendliest barbers I’ve ever met. Always fantastic conversation while you get your hair cut, which is better than the standard rubbish barber chat. The haircuts themselves are fantastic, both are absolute perfectionists so you are getting exactly what you want. They now make appointments instead of drop ins so book in advance. Also, they have a new espresso machine in the old shop, not many barbers will offer you an espresso while you wait!

My partner has trawled around various different barber shops in Glasgow looking for someone who will be able to deliver a sharp rockabilly inspired haircut. Alot of people have tried, alot of people have failed. So I decided to join in on the trail of finding somewhere that he would get what he was looking for. Whilst browsing through instagram we happened to find Soul Barber Room, I immediately showed my partner and it was definitely a hallelujiah moment for him. A couple of weeks later he called the number for the shop and spoken with Lisa who explained it’s a first come first served policy, with doors opening at 10am. As we were heading into the West End I tagged along for the ride, we arrived at 11.30 to be welcomed in by Lisa or to sit outside on the chairs, a nice touch. There was 4⁄5 gentleman infront of my partner but fear not we were offered a beer/water/rum/mango juice. Even though I don’t posess a penis, nor was looking for a haircut(gents only scram ladies) I was made to feel extremely welcome and at ease. The fellow barber, Mark cut my partners hair and he was delighted. A cut is £14.50 and £2 off for students. Lisa did say that there is structural insabilities with their shop and they will be cutting upstairs at the Finnieston pub, don’t let this put you off, easily the best barbers in Glasgow according to my man!

I’m going to fall in line with these other five star reviews, putting my neck out to say this is the best barbershop I’ve experienced in Glasgow… or anywhere else for that matter. I moved up from London a few months ago and a few friends suggested I stop by here. I was going to a swanky barber in London and here I received an equally awesome haircut for less than 1⁄3 the price. Ok ok London –is– expensive, but Scott and Lisa, the dynamic duo who run the joint are great people; they care about the customers and it really shows. And it never hurts to give your customers a complimentary drink. Rum & mango anyone?

Can’t recommend this place enough! Got a cut here today and I’m really happy with the result. Lisa did the cutting after a bit of a wait which she explained was because she was on her own for the day which was unusual, though to be fair I didn’t mind waiting and we were all offered a drink of tea/coffee, water, juice or a beer which was a lovely touch. She knew what she was at with my hair, got it the way I liked and listened to what I was after(which is a rare quality in barbers/hair dressers it seems!) and asked me before she did anything different. There was no awkward chat either which was fantastic as this always kills me when I get my hair done, the general awkward«Going on holiday?» chat or the awkward silence can be a real killer but this place definitely didn’t have any silence, Lisa was chatting with her clients as well as those waiting and everyone was in good spirits! At £14.50 it was a little more expensive that some places but I’d say it was worth it and I’ll definitely be going back there once the hair is long enough to warrant a return visit!

New to the Finnieston area, the Soul Barber was an experience I want to repeat as often as my follicle growth will allow. I was introduced to my barber(and co-owner) Scott and his partner Lisa with a firm hand shake and the offer of a beer, sparkling water, or mango juice. He then had a quick ruffle of my hair, and expertly translated my mono-syllabic grunts and facial twitches into one of the best barbering experiences I’ve had. The chat was informed and entertaining, the cut the best I’ve seen since having to wait for my other half in one of those fancy Edinburgh hair cutting places. Yes, it’s a couple quid more than some chop shops, but when I walked out I felt I’d paid for a very positive experience and cut. It’s a keeper!
