This massive dim sum restaurant with lots of parking is right next to a grocery store of the same name. Décor leaves much to wont, but not the food — very nice. Haw Gao and Shu Mai — standard fare done very well. Congee — massive bowl and well worth it. Fried shredded squid — definite winner. The only miss was the Cheung Fun(rice noodles). Who ever had string beans in them before? Clearly, not in Hong Kong… And definitely a no no. Coming from Edinburgh, this is perhaps the best dim sum I’ve had in Scotland! Overall, well worth the price.

This is my go to place in Glasgow for dim sum. The food is usually good though some dishes can be overly greasy. You just need to know what to order or else just ask. Service can be manic especially on a Sunday early afternoon. When going for dim sum just ask for their recommendations. My favourite is the thai chicken claws — not for everyone’s taste but my dim sum isn’t complete without it. Hubby loves the deep fried durian — it’s less pungent when cooked this way and very creamy. The roast duck is very good as is their crispy pork belly. Parking is good and the size of the venue means you’re always guaranteed a table.

Dim Sum-tastic In my opinion you need to order from the Dim Sum menu here to taste the best of SeeWoo. If you order the usual sweet and sour chicken it’ll be hit-or-miss, according to other reviews on other sites. Hint: Just ask for dim sum and they’ll give you a pictorial menu to help you along. So we went for said dim sum today(Sunday) and it didn’t disappoint! It was hoachin’ with Chinese and Scots alike enjoying an afternoon out with Family and friends. We opted for a selection of 5 dim sum and 1 rice hotpot dish(between 2), washed down with Chinese tea. Har cheung fun(cannelloni like prawn filled noodles), custard buns, pork and nut dumplings, fried squid and lo bak go(a fried turnip and sausage cake) all graced our table — All great value at £3.50 to £4 each. Our black bean ribs and fried chicken feet rice hotpot dish was £6 and was suitable for 2 — lovely, but I tend to leave the feet to the wife:-/ They also threw in a free vegetable dish, choi sum — and I’m telling you I’m stuffed!!! We have dim sum a couple of times a month and it competes with the best in Manchester and London and will give you a feel for the cavernous Dim Sum restaurants they have in Hong Kong. The service wasn’t too shabby either with«politish» and prompt service even though they were extremely busy. We’ll be back soon :)

Based on my friend’s first recommendation for delicious Chinese in Glasgow, we opted for dim sum for lunch the day we left. He recommended this place, so we hopped in a cab and headed over. For me Dim Sum reminds me of when the other half lived in San Francisco, just north of Chinatown. Some Sunday mornings we would opt to head over to get Dim Sum brunch from this place that had relatively few white people, and carts of food coming around from table to table. We barely knew what anything was, and since most of the people with the carts barely spoke English, sometimes we had to guess what we were getting. SeeWoo is not exactly like that, as they give you a Dim Sum menu that you can fill out on your own and a large menu showing photos of a lot of the dishes. Because we could see what there was, we did opt in for some more unusual dishes. We also kept with our old standbys: spring rolls, steamed bbq pork buns, salt and pepper anything, anything with the large flat noodles, and green veg. We got some marinated duck tongue and the walnut and fish floss(because who isn’t instantly intrigued by the phrase«fish floss») How SeeWoo is like that is that when we walked in most of the tables were filled with Asians(in the American sense of the word) and there was only one other table of white people. It was like being at home again! The food was quite tasty. The usual standbys were done well, but maybe not quite as nice as some of the stuff in San Francisco. The duck tongues were strange as they had bones/cartilage in them and you had to scrape the meat off with your teeth. Far better than the deep fried fattiness that is chicken feet. I’m still not sure what fish floss is as that dish turned out to be some sort of sweet pancake stuffed with some sort of creamy filling that was mixed with walnuts and cucumber. It was really tasty though! By the time we left there were a few other tables of white people, but they were all kind of shoved off into one corner. It seemed a bit strange given we were seated in the center of the restaurant! We jokingly called it the«white people» section while we left. But don’t let that scare you! If you want to have some serious Dim Sum, this is a good place to go!(Plus you can stop next door and by all the proper Chinese ingredients to make delicious food at home when you’re done!)

I may not be the best person to be reviewing a Chinese restaurant, as it ranks among my least favourite cuisines out there, but I’ll try and be fair-handed… First, the cons(let’s get them out of the way): the dim sum menu is really hard to understand. Yes, it’s in English, but so many of the menu options are just transliterations from Chinese into English which don’t do any good in helping the non-initiated navigate the menu. Pictures and maybe a brief explanation would have been so useful. When the mystery food did arrive, I found the wonton soup rather bland and the other dim sum selections a bit oily. Now, the pros: the restaurant space is enormous, yet they manage to keep is very well-staffed during the lunch hours. The servers were quite friendly, they kept our jasmine tea topped up and they even gave us a full-size 2012 calendar on our way out! For the Chinese food aficionado, I’m sure SeeWoo is worth a try.

Well we had our xmas night out in here it was the worst xmas night out and that was agreed with all our group. The buffet self service it was cold the staff were not friendly this was £30 per head. We all thought there was four diff tribute acts but it was one band doing the tributes. When we went to the bar to get drinks as the dont take orders at the table. but when you order at the bar the waiter carries it back to your table. lol am going back that way mate. plenty of staff walking around your table watching your every move. even standing at the bottom of your table. This made our younger girls in the group nervous as you finished your drink the glass was uplifted straight away. Well enough of my rant as i no our wrkers wont be back.

This is a newly opened chinese restaurant. Its very big and is situated next to a chinese supermarket. It has a variety of foods on offer and is often of good quality. The staff are friendly. There is parking outside the restaurant but it can get busy at there are other outlets on site. The dishes are reasonably priced with fresh seafood on offer at all times. The restaurant often holds weddings and other such events too.
