Every few months I try and change my foundation, hoping that the next one I try will be the one that’s been sent from the gods, suiting my skin colour to a tee. I noticed Laura Mercier whilst flicking through a magazine, and decided to go and check it out. The first thing I noticed about the products was the packaging, it was really minimal and simplistic which I love. It made it look more expensive than it was, although in saying that, it wasn’t cheap. However, you get what you pay for and when it comes to make-up, I don’t mind paying a bit more for something of better quality. After umming and ahhing for ages, and with some help from the lovely sales assistant, I left £32 lighter, with a new Laura Mercier foundation in my little bag. I went for the gorgeous sounding Silk Crème foundation in Peach Ivory, which gives the skin a lovely subtle peachy glow, perfect for those days when you have woken up feeling a little bit blah. I would definitely go back and have a look at other stuff, but I didn’t want to dent my purse any further! The perfume looks and smells lovely, but it is pricey at around £50 a bottle. The body soufflé butter is also up there in the pricey stakes, at £42 a jar. It smells divine though.

Laura Mercier is one of those brands that is mentioned time and time again in all the fashion magazines such as Elle and Vogue, as such I was expecting the prices in this store to be exorbitantly high. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the products were no more expensive than Bobbi Brown or Mac. Laura Mercier’s foundations are fast becoming iconic although I personally have found them too heavy for my liking. I was very pleased when Laura released a range of mineral makeup as I find this still gives great coverage but it doesn’t feel as though you have a load of slap on! I have to agree with Eleanor that the bath and body products are divine! I have very sensitive skin but Laura Mercier’s products don’t seem to irritate it which is great. Any good makeup artist will tell you that great makeup is nothing without the right tools and Laura Mercier’s makeup brushes are the best I’ve tried. My mum bought me a set for Christmas and I look after them like they are made of solid gold! I bought baby shampoo purely for washing my special makeup brushes, sad but true! This store is definitely worth a look if you fancy treating yourself but very few people could afford to kit themselves out with loads of Laura Mercier products. They’re not as expensive as I expected but that doesn’t mean they’re cheap either!

The cosmetics at Laura Mercier can only be described as delicious! The aim of this brand is to create flawless, natural looking make-up and they have so much of this to choose from. As well a huge make-up range they also do their own skincare. My favourite Laura Mercier products have to be their candles, body and bath range. Their Crème Brulee Honey Bath is to die for, it smells good enough to eat and comes with the cutest ever wooden honey dipper. My Mum got a set of Laura Mercier candles for her Christmas a couple of years ago which were chocolate, crème brûlée and coconut scented, they had hours of burn tim and the whole house smelled amazing. I always try to get my Mum to buy as many bath products from here as possible — the more the Mercier!
