So when Hurricane Abigail was in full force last week I popped in here for a quick bite to eat to get out of the elements. The café is fairly small but I managed to grab a seat beside the window(perfect — I love people watching!) I did my usual of looking around to see what other people had on their plates, heaven forbid I ever get food envy, and decided on a some lentil soup and a wee cheeky portion of chips as they looked so good! The menu wasn’t massive but there was a good enough range of café/lunch foods as well as some more expensive larger dishes. The staff didn’t keep me waiting long and popped over to take my order, she then let me know that the soup comes with homemade bread so I ditched the chips for fear of an expanding waistline and then waited patiently. My order came not even 5 minutes later which was perfect as I had a meeting to run off to and it was a lovely, thick homemade lentil soup with just a wee bit of a kick in it to warm me up before heading outside and all for only £2.75! I don’t often visit this part of town but I would definitely pop in again & I would probably indulge in the the chips as I’m still regretting my choice to not sample them!

I love Café 13. It is my favourite place to get breakfast or lunch in Glasgow. I’m always on the lookout for places which have enough vegetarian options for me but that will also keep my meat-eating pals happy. It’s cheap as you like, the staff are such a friendly lot, and it’s very accommodating to dietary needs. Plus you can usually get some good banter from the good people of Govan.

Well was in today and took my sister in as we both wanted a tea. We was having issues as there was loud music. I asked 12 then a third time to turn it down, she said she was dealing with food first, when asked drawing my sister a bad look. Eventually it was turned on we both felt this wasn’t good to leave. Now she actually charged us for drinks we couldn’t have, considering its a tea bag and water estimate 10 pence but no. This place don’t seem to understand and it was like she didn’t want music off. We was paying customers not her.

I love it in here. The food is really good — nice, diverse menu, freshly cooked, and for the quality you get it’s very affordable! Nice, spicy pasta, garlic bread, hand cut chips, hummous… all my faves. The staff are friendly and efficient, it’s open later than 5, the furniture is beautiful, the vibes are nice. It breathes fresh life into this area of Govan, is a welcoming hub for the locals and much deserving of your business and custom! A gathering point and really handy if you’re grabbing a brew before getting the subway, I have nothing but good things to say about it.

first time I’ve been here since it moved, and by golly, i wish i had been back sooner. interesting food along with the usual standard stuff, I went for a potato pancake which comes with chunks of melt in your mouth steak and a lovely gravy like sauce. total comfort food, totally satisfying, and I felt like a pig eating a side of chunky chips, but they were too good to miss. great location, great food, this is a solid option in the heart of Govan. they do some great value meal deals in the evening and they don’t skimp on the veggie options.
