Best bowling in Scotland Cheaper than Bowlplex yet infinitely better Lanes are in great condition always clean, even though you can wear your own shoes now Modern amusement area with a ticket redemption mix that gives the kids something fun to play for. Food is outstanding for a bowling alley, handmade burgers and great hotdogs to name but a few It is very busy most nights so book online not only for ease and to make sure you do get a lane but also that’s where the deals are too They have a large screen that’s brought down for sporting events in the bar Let the kids bowl and watch the game at the same time

Oddly, after not coming here for years, I’ve been here four times in the last couple of months for various birthdays, and other important events… like bowling in Hallowe’en costumes for no other reason than we felt like it. XD Let’s see… it’s not just strictly a bowling alley so much as it is a mini entertainment complex. There’s the bar, showing football and various other sports, and the arcade which seems to have been retro-fitted with a ticketing system for prizes, which it didn’t have before. As it’s geared towards the collecting of tickets, the dancing machine has gone the way of the dinosaur… which is so sad because it was my favourite game in the whole arcade! The bowling is excellent as always! You aren’t really getting value for money unless you’re in for at least two games. They go faster than you might imagine. I am the world’s most inconsistent bowler, missing all the pins for several frames and then getting strikes and half strikes the next few. It is a mystery as to why this happens. The bowling gods are indeed fickle! When setting up, you can have the bumpers come up for specific people so they don’t need to feel bad when they suck at bowling like me, though I prefer to go without in case the bowling gods look upon me with favour(however rare). Great feature when there are kids in the group. You can order food beside the lanes, but the last time we went to do that every other item we asked for was out of stock for some reason. We managed to eat, but were sad our primary choices were unavailable. I don’t know how often this happens. This was on the Thursday before Hallowe’en, so it was an odd day to run short. The arcade is fun, but unless you are some sort of wizard the collection of tickets is a little bit tricky. I saw a few people with mountains of them, and thought… either they’ve been there all day or have employed witchcraft on the machines. One of my friends seems to have that sort of machine magic, but I have never been able to replicate his feats of ticket trickery. We did get a bubble sword and some kids story books when we pooled our tickets and donated them to the tiny person in our party. I did get a shot of the bubble sword, which was super fun. A fun day out to be had, but if you have small people with you prepare to bring lots of monies for arcade machines!

I feel I’m never out of this place after going here twice in one week. I found myself here unexpectedly on a Sunday evening for a birthday night out. It had a really good deal on, 3 games and a free drink for £11.50. It’s also full of entertainment with chances to win free drinks and free games. I won a free game for dancing to The Time Warp. My moves were on fire. Oh yeah! There’s a DJ, who played a varied mix of tunes and there’s also an interactive character which jumps across the screens and if it stops at your lane you win a prize. It was cheesy but I really enjoyed it. I’m definitely up for going back on the Sunday evening again. So geared up with the Spring into Action event on the Saturday I was ready to the let the good times roll. I also brought my free game coupon which they accepted with no problem. My friend Angela and I decided to split the cost so we got a game for £2.25 each instead of the £5.50. Bargain! There’s plenty of lanes but it can get very busy. You can use a shortcut on the keyboard at your lane for any assistance and drinks. The staff are really nice, I couldn’t believe how helpful and friendly they were. Not in your face at all and on hand whenever you need them. We ordered a couple of drinks and the girl came back with them then you just pay her. It’s a really good experience and like I said I cannae wait to go back and bring on the Sunday schpecial! Hehe!
