«Some of the cast of Made In Chelsea have been known to drink there.» Erm…that’s great. And so set the scene for me before I’d even stepped inside for an afternoon celebrating a friend’s engagement. Sat proudly opposite Eel Brook Common, this old, large pub with high ceilings actually had a light and airy feel to it. It’s owned by Greene King so expect their beers to be front-row centre on the pumps. The bar manager was a great chap, even when there were close to fifty of us 30-somethings trying our hardest to drink his bar dry. The snacks that were laid out for us(more finger food really) were all well presented and freshly made. They kept the hunger pangs at bay. We were really lucky with the sunshine, even enjoying our drinks across the road on the Common. N.B. Not sure whether you’re actually permitted by the pub to do this, but we were not told otherwise and brought our empties back in afterwards. The beer selection, or lack thereof, knocks it down from a four, but other than that it’s a pretty charming place to go for a couple of drinks. And you might even spot Binky or Jamie if you’re *really* lucky.

Well proper delightful Pub to come across in the heart of Chelsea. Not to mention the food is one of the many freshest selections you cannot go wrong with. Well attended the last couple of visits I’ve been here. For that’s why I’ve decided to write a honest review on this place.

Looks out on to eel brook common, nice and airy but that’s where the similarities with the last review end. While they serve food, this is a pub rather than a restaurant, condiments and numbers on the tables back me up. The bar staff were nice, and though there was no apology for my wait there was also no minimum card charge. All I would say is that it’s a little bit soulless, nothing wrong but you can find everything they have to offer in 100 other west London pubs. I didn’t eat so the food may serve as redemption but at the moment my feeling is meh.
