Phoned R.M. on 20÷8÷15 requesting music book«100 Carols for Choirs» & spoke to Duncan who stated that copies were available .I live in Glasgow & said i was visiting Edinburgh Festival the next day asked to purchase book when through. On 21÷8÷15 Duncan was not on duty but spoke to Claire who knew nothing about conversation with Duncan who had left no message. Claire confirmed that three copies of book were available but in basement & she did not have time to search & collect book for me . I ordered through Amazon & book arrived at my door on 26/8/15.Poor show I thought as i would rather have purchased though R.M. as Amazon are tax dodgers. Better staff training required I think. convenient located near haymarket. I got a gorgeous ukulele there and they gave me a good deal when adding a bag for it. They also went out of their way to advice me about mandolin classes. On Sundays they have free ukulele meetups, looks like fun, hope I can attend one soon!

The Rae Macintosh Musicroom is pretty new to the block of Shandwick Place and whenever I am in the area I pop in for a look around the guitar area. They sell classical, acoustic and electric guitars and all the accessories that come with a possible bundle on or their own. Besides guitars they also sell other musical items like Pianos & Keyboards and other folk instruments. Another section is purely devoted to Tuition and Song Books(normal retail prices). There is a big section for beginners only what is really good. The personell is lovely and very helpful. I recently went there to have a guitar tuned and strings changed. They gave me very helpful advise and I really appreciated their honesty in a certain matter. Would I go back to get some accessories and books when I need them — Yes, totally! By the way, they have a sale on at the moment, so if you would like to get a new instrument, now is a good time :-)
