Frontiers is a lovely little boutique situated amongst this cloister of petite independent businesses in the west end of Edinburgh. As Cheryl has said, this place is filled to the brim with unusual fashions such as long floral maxi dresses. It seems as though it is geared to a refined, older audience and is very contemporary and en vogue while also being timeless. There are a lot of neutral colours and pretty, well made jumpers that look as though they would last you a lifetime. I’m not familiar with some of the labels inside, but that can only be a good thing. A highly unique and personal shopping experience, it’s the kind of place where you can dress yourself in style and elegance for a garden party or big event such as a wedding reception. There are some more casual clothes inside too, but items in here are generally quite sophisticated in an understated way. Perfect for ladies who fancy treating themselves to some quality clothing that’s going to last for years.

Frontiers sits alongside several other ladies fashion boutiques, in what’s known as Edinburgh’s West End Village, where a cluster of little independent shops have banded together, with no High Street chain gatecrashers allowed. Frontiers, like the other boutiques in the village, stocks a range of unique and unusual brands, so if you’re into shopping for more uncommon labels or like to steer away from the big retailers, coming here for a cheeky browse should be enjoyable. I like the Orla Kiely range of garments, which are girly, but really wearable. There’s nothing too over the top here, with most of what’s on offer being quite simple, in different colours and prints, but I think the point is that you’re supposed to be able to buy something from here and wear it loads, not just once as part of a two month fashion fad.
