A pretty average café. Very inaccessible if you have any mobility issues — so many stairs! And steep stairs at that. But I would imagine if you have mobility issues, you wouldn’t be in Durham — it’s got to be the least accessible place in the NorthEast! Food was pretty basic but good value for money. Quick service too. Portions were pretty hefty — a toastie came with a huge salad, coleslaw and crisps! Cakes looked good though I didn’t sample them myself at breakfast time. A good local caff.

Quirky interior, also spacious & light. Good croque monsieur and a properly enjoyable milkshake although it could have done without ice.

This is a nice café quite small and not accessible to many as there is a steep staircase to climb to go in. It is situated in the heart of durham, about a 2 minute walk from the central marketplace. It has a nice warm atmosphere but can often get rather crowded around lunch time and early afternoon. They have a varied range of sandwiches and cakes etc which are quite good quality. The staff are lovely but seem to be a bit slow in serving customers especially at peak times during the week. Nice little café but a shame about the stairs.
