The perfect spot for treating yourself to lunch in the sun(if you sit outside). Tucked away behind the market place and silver street Leonards has a fantastic selection of teas, well-made coffees, and well-sized portions of delicious sandwich/roll based lunches and home made cakes. Personal favourite: the big fat bacon roll on brown with brown sauce. Best bacon roll in Durham. Hands down my favorite café in Durham, I’ve never been disappointed with the quality of the food or service and the building is large enough that I’ve always been able to get a seat. Can get quite busy over lunch time during the university term times.

Located in what I call Durham’s art district, Leonard’s variety of tea, coffee and eats keeps me coming back. While they don’t have WiFi, I can depend on Leonard’s for a sunny seat on a cold afternoon! I’m always curious what the ducks in the loo will be «doing.»

I only had an espresso here, but I really enjoyed it. A nice out-of-the-way location, a small cozy inside. Didnt get to eat anything, but the menu looked really great, including American-style flapjacks and a late breakfast menu!

Strange but lovely location. It’s a little bit hard to find, but worth some exploration. Really delicious coffee, and nice indoor and outdoor seating.
