This pub. I only found out about this pub once I’d left the area, but on home visits we always try and and come. We came here for our post wedding celebration as well. It’s a cute little pub with a healthy sausage fetish and they do it so well. Any type of sausage you can think of and you’ll be able to get it here. There’s an outside bit for those rare sunny days, car parking at the back and more than one(decent) cider on tap. The staff are friendly, and it’s a good place to hang out on a Saturday afternoon(as well as any other time, really!) Also, dog friendly. even have dog biscuits on the bar!

They only have one thing on their menu, bangers and mash, but boy do they do it well. Over a dozen types of sausages to pick from, a bunch of different potato varieties including such eclectic choices as wasabi or marmite mashed potatoes and then top it off with one of three type of gravy. The sheer number of possible combinations is mind boggling. Also if bangers and mash isn’t your thing, you can sub in chips or a salad for the mashed, but really why would you want to? To top it off they have some nice outdoor seating and real ales on draft, including a personal favorite, Hobgoblin. So if you need a meat and potatoes fix, check out Railway.

The Railway Inn is a great little restaurant/pub. Their speciality is sausage and mash, and they have many, many sausage varieties, including several vegetarian ones. The mash is yummy too, with seasoned mash, parmesan and turmeric mash and whole grain mustard mash. A really good meal at a reasonable price. They have a patio area, which is good when the weather is nice. Menu is here:
