Had the pork ramen. Did not like it at all. It was very bland and the chunks of pork were so big! Very disappointed.

I like wagamamas, you know what you are going to get and what you get is always nice. On this occasion I had a chicken curry type thing(can’t remember what it was called) and my sister had firecracker prawns which was very hot and spicy and delicious, we are had yummy duck Gyoza and chilli squid on the side the squid was particularly good !

The Wagamama, on the top of the Park Street. Heard a lot about their Jap delicacies, but have never been, in spite of passing over it, a million times. So, we enter. And, what a staff. It was pretty full. But, the manager herself was coming up and greeting every customer that walked in. Then, we were given a seat and we didn’t really like it because there was a Hen Night going right on the next table. The Manager, saw us in discomfort. Walked up to us, cleared a table for us, by herself!!! Amazing! The waiters were very helpful in choosing the dishes! The Yasai Yaki Soba, was legendary. The dressing with the coriander vinegar literally melt in out mouth. Great noodles! And, the catch is, there are fresh juices, so you have the ‘healthy’ sense while you dig into the delicious noodles. The portions are pretty big, as well. The Restraurant is spotlessly clean and the toilets are in a brilliant state! The seating is well lit and slim in definition, in where, many people can seat and dine at one go. The idea of the bench seating is to have as many people as possible. The interiors are bustling and appears a nice place to catch up. It even has got outdoor seating, but, only 2 tables. The serving time is roughly 10 – 15 minutes, which is pretty good. A three course meal, with a drink, will cost under £25, so, it’s pretty economical. This place is thoroughly recommended. A place with a bubbly atmosphere serving stunning food inside an intriguing space with amazing table service.

Of course it’s not authentic. Wagamama has expanded its Japanese menu to include a couple of Thai and Korean dishes, plus salads. We came for a late lunch before visiting the Bristol Museum. The Wagamama ramen £10 was pretty good. My grilled chicken katsu curry £10 served the chicken sliced and served cold. It was dry and not really rescued by the curry sauce. I think the brown rice was a nice touch but needed more sauce. The salad was pretty good but the pickles and dressing were all out of a bottle. Nothing I couldn’t do . The yaki soba £8 was so dry and sauce less we barely finished it. Worst dish here. The service was attentive, but it was empty. The noise is really loud even with just 15 people dining inside this massive dining room.

Not authentic at all to me. Disappointing. I ordered teriyaki with rice and it was just not right.

I love Wagamamas and so does my husband, well kind of. We have a massive problem in that the first sniff of spicy food he has, he breaks out in a sweat. The thing is, he loves the taste. Our first venture to Wagamamas was an experience indeed. By the third mouthful he’d already used his tissue and was onto mine, but to his credit, he finished it. He then asked the hot(looks wise) and very friendly waitress whether his dish was hotter than mine… to which she replied ‘no, hers was three chillis, yours was one’. Ha, in your face husband. Anyway, we had a great time and we go back every now and then — he just has to lump it. It’s somewhere between fast food(in that it comes really quickly and you sit on large tables with other groups) and fine dining(it tastes delicious and the service is excellent). A great way to enjoy Asian cuisine that’s for sure.

Yes it’s a chain, yes it feels a bit like an upmarket cantine, but no that does not mean that Wagamama’s noodles aren’t tasty, filling and worth a look. Perhaps the least appealing aspect of this successful business is that there’s a slight production line attitude towards the food, with the somewhat jaded waiters coming up and marking your placemat with different symbols to say which stage of the process you’re at. It’s also invariably noisy and crowded. However, what you come to Wagamama for is definitely the food. There’s a wide range of Asian dishes to choose from, although I have to say that from my experience all the dishes taste fairly similar. Wagamama is a cheap and cheerful place to grab lunch, but perhaps look towards somewhere a little more intimate if it’s dinner you’re after.

It is very hard to find fault in Wagamama, the food is always delicious. The principle is brilliant– good, healthy food served fast and efficiently. Efficiency is what the restaurant is all about, you will be asked to sit down next to people you don’t know, and the waiters will scribble your order down on your menu(which is also your table mat), but it is all in the name of the Wagamama experience. Every time i have been to Wagamama i have had to wait for a table, which says two thinks: it is always popular, but as a result they should expand the restaurant. The wide ranging menu will bring a smile to your face on a cold winters night!

The Wagamamas at the top of Park Street has always been a good little place to stop of for lunch, especially if you want quick service and don’t have that much time on your hands. Like most Japanese noodle bars, Wagamamas is set out with a few long tables — so although you will be opposite your friend, you can expect to end up sitting next to someone you don’t know at busy times. The service is very efficient, and within about ten minutes of ordering you tend to start receiving your food. However, one thing I would say is that you can expect your meals to come out at different times because they cook the food fresh there and then, so it really depends how long different meals take! An extra thing to note is that Wagamamas offers a takeaway service which is great if you fancy a comfy night in — although they do not offer delivery, so you do have to pick up from the restaurant. Overall it’s a trendy little place to grab lunch with a friend, and something a bit different from general cafes!

Some who have visited Japan do not like Wagamamas as what is served is over priced and has a touch of the bland. ‘Wagamama’ is a Japanese word for selfish and I’d agree. Wagamamas in Bristol is… The Emperor’s New Clothes… plus Uggs.

Ignore reviews calling the food specifically Japanese or Oriental/Indian because Wagamama’s cuisine falls into the category of Pan-Asian. The range of delights on the menu are taken from various countries of the far east whilst the interior is modelled on a Japanese ramen bar. Wagamama has become a successful chain so if you’ve heard of it before, what is different about the Bristol restaurant? Firstly the waiters are under a lot of stress as in typical Wagamama style they pack you into communal tables with minimal room for breathing space. This led to a waiter bringing me 2 coffees I didn’t order before I had even begun my meal and the coke I had ordered arrived after my food. The food arrived at different times, and the waiters were not willing to accept fair criticism. However the location is convenient, the interior clean and it is still hard to resit a chicken katsu curry!

This is the first Wagamama which I visited nearly 8 years ago. Everyone who like asian and fresh cooking will love this. Every meal comes fresh cooked from the kitchen, all waitresses are very friendly and you wil love to come back. Try the fresh juices and take a dessert(Chocolate fudge cake)!

After years of hearing how wonderful and tasty and nutritious and different Wagamama’s is, I thought it was about time I pay it a visit. I was set to be cynical for no other reason than to rain on the parade of my self-righteous friends(we love each other dearly). But my cynicism was washed away with the first bite of my saien soba. These filling and well-portioned noodle dishes are packed with flavour and taste authentically Japanese. If you’re unsure what to choose from the extensive menu the helpful staff will happily help you come to a decision. Probably not the best place to take fussy or anti-social eaters as you’ll be sharing your table with strangers.

Located on Queens road almost opposite the Bristol museum, Wagamama’s is very easy to get to by public transport or walking. There is no off street parking, and you will almost most definitely have to drive around the block a couple of times before finding a spot nearby. Wagamama’s offers Oriental/Indian infused dishes and is branded ‘positive eating + positive living’ selling relatively ‘good for you’ food. The prices are reasonable on many dishes and the flavours of the food is exquisite, but the portions can be a bit on the small side so I would recommend a side dish if you are particularly famished. The layout of the restaurant is traditional Japanese with long tables and benches which may not be quite to your liking if you are a couple, but with big groups it can be very sociable The staff are very friendly and if you have any specific dietary requirement or you simply do not like something in a dish, they are very happy to help.

Being part of an ever expanding chain, this Wagamama’s is simply one of a vast network of other restaurants up and down the country offering exactly the same meals in exactly the same way, but to be quite honest, I like it. The food here is pretty good I find and despite the extensive menu, it usually tastes very fresh and extremely delicious. I think the simplicity of Asian cuisine and the natural speed in which they cook their dishes helps make this chain deliver high quality food consistently up and down the country. If you’re familiar with this chain and enjoy eating in them, then this one is no different so you won’t be disappointed. If you’ve never eaten in one before, don’t be put off by the corporate sheen, the food is very, very good and the service is usually excellent

On the triangle you’ll find noodle restaurant Wagamama. You’ll be seated on one of the rows of wooden benches, probably near the entrance. This, plus the white walls, gives a no fuss, utilitarian feel to the place. Instead of concentrating on interior design their strategy seems to be to have lots of people enjoying their meal on views, which works as far as I’m concerned. Far to often have I walked past in the early evening and got drawn in, despite having my shopping for dinner with me. The service is quick and chirpy. They’ll come along with their fancy digipad things and scrawl something on your menus, then go and put your order in. You can watch the whole process from here as they give you a view of the kitchen. This makes for an experience that’s lively — you see flames dancing out of the pans and chefs working a sweat to make your dinner. This approach works here, the energetic feel goes well with the various hybrid(their food has various Asian influences) meals on offer. The portions are generous and the food not too rich, a common restaurant vice. They do good sake too. Wagamama is quick and modern, with good food to boot.

I love asian food so went to visit my wagamamas. The staff were very friendly and helpful and they have activity packs to keep the younger ones amused and a special childrens menu. The service was very quick and everything arrived at the table piping hot, things did arrive at seperate times but we had been pre warned of this by our server. The food is served as sooon as it is ready. Unfortunately my meal was incredibly salty and when I complained our server said that no salt is added to the food, however he took my meal away for the chef to look at. He returned to say that it was very salty and that the base stock used had been way over salted, my meal was the first to be using this stock and they had to then recall some over meals whcih had been sent out with it. I was told I would have to wait 20 mins or I could choose a different dish which would be quicker. With my servers help I chose an alternative, which was delicious. All my children finished their meals, and really enjoyed themselves. I was a bit dissapointed when the bill came and they had charged me for my 2nd choice which was a few pounds more expensive that my original choice. I had expected them to waive that after being served an inedible meal! Because of this I would be unlikely to visit the restaurant again as I can hold a grudge for a long time! But I would still recommend it to others if its the type of food you enjoy.

I’ve been recommending Wagamama’s for years, and was happy to see a branch open in Bristol. The food is based on Japanese noodle bars, but has interesting twists. One of the best things is the flexibility. Most dishes can be adjusted to be prepared for vegetarians and vegans, which makes it a hit when your dining group has dietary differences. I like to try a different main course every time I go and have yet to be disappointed. The portions are generous, the service quick and the seasonal options and dessert can be amazing. One can have quite a filling meal for £8-£15(depending on what you chose to drink), and, if pressed for time, can get the food as a takeaway. The only downsides are how loud it can get when busy and if in a large group, you only have long table options(the seating is fixed tables and benches). This restaurant is easily reached by many busses and there is on street parking as well as a parking garage a short walk away.

Great outpost of the Japanese chain restaurants. Often a small queue to get seated but turn over is fast so you never have to wait long. The staff are friendly, helpful and accomodating towards small children. If you aren’t used to it then sharing your bench and table with strangers can be off putting but it really isn’t as scary as it seems. The food is very good and mainly consists of noodle and rice dishes with many vegetarian options. The drinks menu is varied and includes super healthy freshly squeezed juices which are very tart and lovely. Chopsticks are provided but there is no shame in asking for a fork if you feel defeated! The price is very reasonable(expect to pay about £10 a head) and it is a great basic place to stop for lunch while shopping in Clifton.

Wagomamas is a lively, fast-paced Japanese noodle bar. They have a large menu so there is plenty of choice. The food is really nice and it wasn’t too expensive. I would eat here again. The seating is on long wooden benches and the restaurant is quite stark and plain. We were sat near the kitchen and there was always staff rushing in and out, which did not make for a relaxing meal.

Japanische Küche at its Best.
