Good service, we created our own burgers. I had the Welsh lamb & mint, blue cheese, sauteed mushrooms and fried egg with dijonnaise and peanut butter with sweet potato chips My girlfriend had the veggie joint, haloumi, roasted peppers, guacomole, chilli and hand-cut thick chips.

One of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. A friend and I visiting Bristol decided to go all out. First, a large order of chicken wings. Suitably browned on the outside and adequately tasty. Surprisingly filling, and perhaps a negligent decision given the incoming onslaught. I went for a lamb and mint burger on a brioche bun with guacamole, a fried egg, wasabi mayo, and barbecue sauce. Explosion of flavors. The lamb was juicier and, thanks to the mint, more flavorsome than my fellow diner’s prime beef patty. This is the kind of dining experience that will wipe your tears away, leaving you with some hope that maybe there is some good left in the world. Service was great — we sat outside to enjoy the unusually sunny weather. It started raining, and the staff quickly moved us all inside.

We deserved a table for Thursday night and it was pretty busy which was nice! We sat down and looked at the menu! The concept is excellent, with a notepad with lots of different burgers, buns, cheeses, sauces, chips and toppings to choose from to create your own burger. It is a little pricey though. But I am a vegetarian but I am also allergic to nuts, the veggie burger contained nuts in it so I couldn’t eat it, and the only other choice was the mushroom burger which was just a mushroom basically. We soon left after that a

As British burgers go, this is pretty good. Great selection of meats(venison, lamb, beef, etc), and nice BBQ chicken wings to start. I got the lamb which had just the right, gamey flavor. The meat was slightly overworked, which made it a bit like meatloaf. The bun was similar to an English muffin, which I quite liked! Also appreciated the Bristol Beer Factory selection on the drink menu.

The concept behind The Burger Joint is customisable burgers. Each person is given a sheet of paper and ticks the type of burger, sauces, extras, and sides that they would like, the waiter/waitress then takes this and your order is complete. This is brilliant. As a student, this is the perfect meal out: delicious food(at least compared to that of which most students can cook), very generous portions, and decent prices. I have been 3 times on separate occasions and it has never disappointed. Going ‘all-out’ costs ~£15, and for this you get the burger(doubled up), with 1 side, 3 toppings, 2 sauces, and a bottomless drink. However, you can easily get away with only spending £10 and still having a great meal(#studentlife). The combo I have most enjoyed has been a doubled up 6oz beef prime(12oz!!!), Monterrey Jack, Grilled Back Bacon, Sautéed White Onions, Ketchup, Mayonnaise, and French Fries with a bottomless drink(of course!). Mmmmmmm. Honestly, there is no other place in Bristol(apart from Pam Pam, of course) which I get more pumped up for than when I hear that we are returning to this place. The value for money and choice available is unparalleled, and that is what makes this place so good. Highly Recommended.

The idea of a customizable burger sends the good kind of shivers down my spine. With that said, I’m pretty taken with The Burger Joint. In my short time in Bristol, I’ve gone enough times to almost fill up a loyalty card, which they had to my surprise. Since moving away, I’ve finally come to terms with the loss of this eatery in my life and have decided to post a late review. The buns are nice to hold — firm yet soft, much like how I imagine Ryan Gosling’s buns are. They’re perfectly toasted so that the edges of the bun are crispy but the entire thing isn’t toast-like. If that makes sense. I’ve had both the regular and vegetarian options, and they’re both delicious. For vegetarians, the mixed mushroom patty is so so good. The texture isn’t overly chewy, but it doesn’t have that dryness that you sometimes get with veggie patties. I think you can request a vegan version of any of the veggie patties as well. The lamb and typical beef patties are amazing as well. The meat is so tender, and it looks like a good juicy patty when it comes out to you. But really, what sells me on this place is the variety of toppings and sauces. You get two free sauces that you can either slather over your burger or request on the side. The super chilli is no freaking joke. I think I’m a seasoned lover of the spice, but I definitely needed one of those really tasty blackcurrant sodas to help me get through at times. Pair that with garlic mayo, and you’re in heaven. For the less spice-inclined out there, have no fear. There’s almost everything from the classic ketchup to tzatziki sauce. Two things for the adventurous: peanut butter and/or wasabi mayo. You can get 3 toppings for £1.95 or .80p each. There are at least 6 different types of cheeses and 16 or so different options for toppings beyond the usual lettuce, onion, tomato, etc. Toppings include fried eggs and grilled pineapple to the more unusual black pudding. This review could honestly go on for another page. Just pop in and hang out with the friendly staff. The lunch deal gets you a side, burger, and drink for less than a tenner. You won’t be disappointed. I knocked off a star because they don’t have one here in California(how rude). I’ll just be sobbing over my In-n-Out until I come back here one day.

Nice Buns Been coming to this place since it opened and it has been consistently good :) Now there are many competitors to its best burger crown hut it still holds up well. Two area it comes up trumps are value for money and choice. You can customise your burger how you like(I like a venison burger with super chilli, cheddar and onion rings on a brioche) and with unlimited soft drinks and a good choice of sides(chunky skin on chips for me) is great value. Much more so than Byron or 5 guys. Which is best? They are all great so I can’t choose as they all have their strengths though it is always good to support a local business. I recommend anyone give burger joint a try :)

Hands down the best burgers in Bristol. Beef patty with streaky bacon and Stilton = heavenly. Milkshakes are to die for. And the service is always brilliant, no matter how busy they are. An absolute must visit for burger fans!

Really love this place. Simple but delicious food, taylor made just the way you want it. I have eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed. I’m a real fuss pot so I love that you can your own burger to your exact taste. I have had both beef burger & chicken burger with my own toppings and sides, both were equally as delicious. All burgers come with one side at £7.95 but you can add as much or as little as you like which will make a difference on the price. The place itself looks small but inside it’s pretty spacious with lots of tables & booths. They also welcome children & have high chairs for little ones. You definitely need to give this place a try if you haven’t already.

Once magnificent but the quality of food and service has sunk.

It’s been a year since we last reviewed The Burger Joint, but we’ve been eating there all year. Had to review again after having what is probably the best chicken burger I’ve had in ages. The menu has changed a little over the last 12 months, with a few new additions(such as hash browns, new sauces and toppings/extras). And while we still think the front door is a nuisance, and a couple of the sides are dry and unexciting, The Burger Joint is still a great place to go to fill the tank on a hungry day.

Wow is how I would sum this place up. Originally we only booked as another burger joint in Bristol was full the evening we were eating out but boy are we glad they were! The Burger Joint is amazing. You get to choose exactly what kind of burger you want with tick box sheets and pencils given to you as you sit down(think ordering breakfast to the room in a hotel and you get the idea) and it means there are literally thousands of different meal options available, something for everyone! The quality of the ingredients is superb and full of flavour and texture, I can honestly say it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten and the sweet potato fries are to die for. The ambience is warm and the dimmed lighting makes it feel intimate and a great place for couples or groups of friends to relax and enjoy a good meal together. The service is attentive and relaxed, adding to the overall excellent experience.
