Quigleys is a fast food Takeaway on St Augustines Parade in Bristol. I had quarter pound point burger which was £2.80, exactly the same price as all the competition in the area. The salad was just a few meagre pieces of shredded lettuce. There was a dollop of rugby rellish included, which just dropped out as soon as I bit into it.

Chicken is on the menu. Available in two forms, fried and somewhat grilled if you go for the Peri Peri option. Not a whole lot else going on here to be honest. Thought there would be more ‘Peri Peri’ to the chicken and perhaps more than just Ketchup available, but alas, it wasn’t to be. My search for a reasonable halal chicken joint continues.

Walking passed this place in the day you might think«who in their right mind would ever want to eat in there»? At least that is what I think when I peruse the faded pictures of some grim looking slop they have adorning their front windows. You can always tell someplace is going to be a little naff on the quality side when they persist in showing pictures of what the meals are supposed to look like. I’m pretty well clued up on what a burger looks like to be honest and even if I wasn’t, the one you get invariably looks nothing like the one in the picture; it just makes them look even worse. «I know you were expecting it to look like the one we’ve framed in the front window there, but we couldn’t really be asked to be honest, so here’s this sloppy inferior version for you to enjoy». This place serves greasy kebabs and burgers to drunken people waiting for taxis on a Friday and Saturday night. It’s rubbish.

Quigley’s is one of 4 fast food takeaway’s in a row in the centre of Bristol. It seems odd that there is 4 all next to each other, but I guess the competition means cheaper prices for us. It is your standard run of the mill kebab shop aimed for the drunken yobs stumbling out of one of the many bars on park street, or Oceana just down the road. The pictures of the food on the exterior of the takeaway are all faded and are very off putting. However, the prices are very reasonable, therefore it might be a good place to eat if your on a very tight budget. Additionally they do freshly prepared paninis which I’ve been told are quite nice.

Another of the myriad of fast food kebabbys in the centre, but with a difference. Quigleys’ vast white and blue tiled walls reach far back into the building, may make you feel like you are entering a public toilet, but the smell of chips and dirty kebabs and burgers says something different. I think the tiling in the takeaway is a brilliant idea, considering the average Saturday night clubber’s clumsiness and perhaps delicate stomach. This isn’t the sort of place you would come to especially, more like somewhere that might appear in your hazy memories of the night before when waking on a Sunday afternoon. That said, the kebabs are pretty good, and they also offer various burger chips and drink deals, catering for every hungry partier’s needs.
