Don’t be fooled as I first was before I stepped into this place, it is not a poundland, or a bargain bucket type of store, they do have quite cheap items and food and drink but they also have some surprisingly expensive things. The store takes up two divisions, the food side and the stuff side. The food side is full of snacks and drinks all of a pretty good value or with some good offers to go with them. The stuff side is alot more varies, from laptops to wallhangings and from garden chairs to vacuum cleaners, you can find some pretty odd stuff in this poundstretcher!

I’m a sucker for Poundstretcher. The first time I came here, I popped in to get some bin bags and came back with a hula hoop and 2 hobby horses that went«neigh» when you pressed their ears. I did also come away with the bin-bags! The danger with a shop like this is you pop in to just pick up some cheap loo cleaner and then you come out laden with cushions, solar lights or ridiculous things you didn’t know you had to have until you entered the shop. The staff are also friendly and got great amusement out of me buying the hobby horses when they heard, that no they weren’t for my kids, they were for me and my husband!

This place is cheap, and sells a range of food and hardware products. One of East Street’s busiest stores, you’ll find everything from boxes of biscuits, to plant pots to door mats. The shop often stocks a variety of popular food brands at dicounted prices, so keep your eyes peeled. Staff are friendly and willing to help with any queries you may have.
