For a pizza chain you will struggle to find better than pizza express and this is a particularly nice one as situated in an old bank on corn street. Picture grand architecture, high ceilings and beautiful chandeliers. The seating is on different levels and it caters well for large groups. The menu is typical of most Italians, what I like about pizza express is they do light option which is a ring of pizza with a salad in the middle. This is great for a lunch as I often can’t eat a whole pizza. The pizza was cooked beautifully, the toppings were tummy and the salad was nicely dressed. The service was great and they got all of our orders spot on so for a group of twenty it was a great choice!

The building is beautiful. The pizza is authentic and delicious. Surprisingly so. The prices are cheap. If you have orange weds– really damn cheap. No negativity necessary here.

Architecturally, this Pizza Express is my favourite of all those I’ve eaten in — in Bristol, Cardiff and elsewhere. It’s housed in an elegant building on historic Corn Street, with a beautiful interior which sets the scene for a more refined pizza meal than some of the others in the chain(although I think the company generally chooses their buildings well). Usually when I eat out I would much rather go to an independent restaurant than a chain — but when it comes to good pizzas, I actually think Pizza Express does a pretty good job, and I like their menu. This one is no different — the staff are friendly, the service is fast, the salads are always crisp and fresh, and the pizza is spot on. For those with small appetites or healthy diets, their new Leggera range offers lighter pizzas with a hole in the middle, which they fill with salad — idea if you go at lunchtime. My favourite, however, is still the trusty Fiorentina — followed by Caffe Reale — a little dessert of baby figs with mascarpone and a sweet fortified wine syrup poured over the top.

This Pizza Express is actually quite different from the rest that I’ve been to. When walking into this branch, you feel like you’re not in a typical Pizza Express. The ceilings are high, the architecture is grand, and it has abit of an old glamour feel to it. The marble top bar, the big leafed plants around the place and the politeness of the waiters add to the environment. The menu is a normal pizza express menu, which I’ve always found really quite good. They have a great stone baked feel and don’t overladen your stomach. The salads are yummy too, the nicoise that I had was light and tasty! A really nice place to bring a date, or your family, or just to have a nice sit down meal with mates. Although the food is the same you’d get at all the other branches, it’s the environment here that makes it special.

I would say that there isn’t really a lot to choose between most pizzerias. They’re all very much the same to be honest as pizzas aren’t something you can really mess up or alternatively do anything with that people haven’t seen before. With this in mind, Pizza Express is one of those chain restaurants that you know is going to be a safe bet with a large group of people and I’ve been to this one on Corn Street a number of times with work. I always have the Diavola as I love spicy food and they do this pizza very well. What sets this one apart however is the setting. Like a lot of the buildings on Corn Street this pizza express has a wonderful high ceiling and authentic Victorian charm. Not exactly sure what the building was once used for, but the conversion into a pizzeria has been done very tastefully and is always a pleasant dinning experience.

I really like this branch of Pizza Express. It’s located in the St Nicholas Market area in a lovely old high-ceilinged building. Some of the seating is on levels, and there is ample seating for a range of small or large groups. The menu is the same as the rest of the chain(good selection of pizzas, pastas and salads), and the staff is very nice and helpful. It’s always been a pleasure to eat at this branch.

Nothing can beat Pizza Express dough balls! They are just the best, with a bit of garlic butter and you have perfection in snack form! I was so pleased the other day to see the Pizza express dough balls on sale in supermarkets, allowing everyone to enjoy them in the comfort of their own home! Besides the dough balls the Pizza are pretty good as well, they are quite expensive but you are getting some quality food, my friend is on Orange as well and they have an offer sometimes which is buy one get one half price which we have taken advantage of before!
