This is quite a large bar\restaurant\events venue with plenty of seating. I came as part large group for Christmas drinks and everything was good, food OK. The building is very bland looking, near St. Nicholas Market. I must have walked past it hundreds of times without even noticing it was even here. Revolution is a great name for bar\restaurant\venue, but this place is unfortunately a bit unexciting.

There are definitely better places for a breakfast! We ordered Benedict’s eggs and full English, both dishes were just ok, coffee was awful do not recommend this place for food!

I can see why this place gets low reviews. There’s a ton of effort going into the marketing and branding and menu layout, but not much going into the service or the drinks. Admittedly I was in on a Monday night, which is always a slow night. But I had to pretty much mug a waiter each time I needed something. The food was adequate and the drinks were alright. Most of the drinks seemed like they were cooked up by the marketing department, not a bartender, though. They look and sound neat, but they were fairly uneventful otherwise.

Not so impressed is the honest review. The décor is nice, a bit kath kidson but has several nice booth’s, upstairs and a really long bar(perfect for avoiding tunnel que’ing) The staff looked really bored and we not friendly at all, we ordered two large glasses of wine £12 which were v.i.l.e. About average for the Centre regarding price but in my view i don’t understand how they can charge that much when the bottle you are drinking costs half as much. Cocktails are around £8 per glass. Beers at about £5 There were about a dozen people in there being a Monday evening, all having dinner when the lights were dimmed and what i can only describe as strobe lights were flashing around the joint, at 9pm on a Monday… most people left soon after. All in all, disappointed i used to head to vodka rev when it was actually a vodka bar and was great fun but they seem to have lost their ‘niche’ and trying to fit into something it isn’t going all commercial and poppy. Better places to go in the centre i’m afraid.

only came here for drinks on a random Thursday night while visiting friends, but their trays of vodka will wreck your head… needless to say it was a great night out

Not a bar I would come to out of choice but it happened to be a particular hotspot for a company I used to work for. The most irritating thing about this place is the volume. Regardless of how many people are in here, at whatever time of day, the music is always pumping out, making it near impossible to have a conversation without shouting: not ideal if you like to converse with your drinking buddies. On the plus side the staff are great and on certain nights of the week you can play that game where you flip a coin and if you guess which way it lands you get another drink for free. There are also the vodkas themselves. With over 50 different flavours to try, nights here can get very messy, very quickly. Usually these come in trays of 6 or 12 so you can sample lots at once — great if you want to try lots of different flavours and share with a group of friends. Apparently the food here isn’t half bad during the day but I wouldn’t chance losing my hearing for a panini and chips.

Vodka Revolution is a den of iniquity, a warehouse of depravity, an indictment of all that is wrong about British drinking culture today. It is a soulless establishment in the city centre, which pumps out chart music so loud it’s impossible to hold a conversation(if there’s no space to dance, why do you need the music THAT loud?). The drinks aren’t much better. While the novelty of an extensive range of flavoured vodkas is definitely fun(and at times they are really quite good), what Vodka Revolution mostly sells are its sickly sweet cocktails in watered down pitchers for bargain prices. You’d be better off saving your money for a decent cocktail somewhere else. But then that,‘s the purpose of Vodka Revolution, getting as much alcohol down you as possible. It doesn’t matter if you enjoy the experience, the only thing which counts is the number of drinks you can tally up as you reconstruct the night before the morning after.

Vodka Revs is a pretty trendy and swish bar, and I am definitely a fan, however the only thing I would say is that it is slightly on the higher price range for drinks. They do however have a great selection, and also have a lot of ‘fun’ drinks such as a variety of different flavoured shots, as well as cocktail pitchers which are pretty cool. This bar attracts both adults and students a like, and it’s the sort of place that is great for starting the evening off with a few drinks. The downstairs area kind of turns into a dance floor but not properly, however if you want a bit of a dance then you can! I would recommend revs for birthday nights out, and if you fancy going here for a special occasion party then give them a call and they will probably arrange the VIP area upstairs for you either for free or at a small charge! There’s quite a lot of seating at this bar which is always good, and they also do food — their pizzas are definitely worth a go if you’re on the peckish side! In the summer months it’s also great because they have outside seating. Definitely worth a visit for some pre-drinks in my opinion!

I honestly cannot tell whether I love this place or hate it. I was first introduced on a very studenty event known as ‘Carnage’ and by Joe carnage it was in there. I couldn’t get anywhere near the bar and once I managed to battle my way through hundreds of hyped up Freshers the bar staff were insanely slow. What’s more, I bought one single and one double vodka and coke and it came to a whopping £12.50. Now, this may have been due to the student event who knows? I have been back once since then one evening last summer and it was far more chilled out. We could enjoy a drink outside under the heat lamps in peace, but it was still lively inside. I even surprised myself and braved the Chilli shot(shivers). In conclusion I reckon it’s a good place to go if you know what days are student nights and what isn’t. It’s worth trying to get one of their special cards as you can get some real cheap(ish) deals on most nights.

Revolutions or «Vodka Revolutions» as it is known in certain circles, is, as the name suggestion, primarily a vodka bar, with an impressive and wide ranging selection of different vodka’s including the infamous and eye watering chilli vodka. Try it if you must, but be warned, it will disable your taste buds for a while. This place gets very lively at the weekends as it is the perfect place to start a Friday and Saturday night and what better way to get yourself going than with a couple of shots. During the week it is more of a student bar as the prices of draught beer is relatively cheap for the city centre. The outside patio area is one of the main attractions of the bar itself and is packed during the summer months. Naturally, a decent outdoor seating area is just what the smokers are after so expect to be surrounded by them at all times.

This is part of the Russian vodka bar chain, though if you’re after somewhere quiet to sit and catch up on a bit of Chekhov, you may wish to look elsewhere. A city centre drinking hole, they sell plenty of beers etc on tap but the real emphasis is on potatoe juice. You can get this in an astonishing number of forms(whatever happened to good old fashioned communinist rationing?), including a large array of cocktails, the most ostentacious of which have chocolate sweeties floating in them. There’s also loads of shot options, but if you can’t decide you can get a cheaper bulk buy where you get a tray of six at a knockdown price. There are also extremely cheap deals when work kicks out on a Friday — as you can probably imagine, this isn’t a place for the subtle nor the fainthearted.

The phrase vodka bar conjures up images of cool dance music and Russian beauties. The Bristolian version of a vodka bar has loud music, for sure, but I’m not sure about the rest of it. I’ve only been there when they’ve had drinks deals on(wouldn’t really go near a place like this otherwise) and it’s pretty much serious drinking and not much else. Very much a destination for stag parties and such like, they typically barge in, make a lot of noise and career off somewhere else. Although the music is usually too loud, particularly at the beginning of the evening(why do bars play music so loud you can’t talk when there are about four people in the whole place?) they do a good line in soul and funk, though this was only on one of my visits — you’d have to check before to ensure there will be decent music. Going outside can solve the problem of ear-bleedingly loud music and drunken idiots but obviously is only really an option in summer months. If it’s too cold to go outside and there aren’t any good drinks deals on I really would avoid this place.

The music is too loud. The chandeliers are fabulous. The beer is pricey. But I love, love, LOVE the cocktails. Okay so its a vodka bar that doesn’t sell Snow Queen hence the star loss(they do sell Grey Goose now though!). But I always have fun here and devour as many russian brides, or choccy balboas as I can afford.

If you want some where to start your friday night off after work then head down to revolution, its wide variety of vodkas, cocktails, beers and a good atmosphere will kick the night off. There is an outdoors area to the front which does help when the bar area becomes packed. Do not forget to sign up for your free drink its worth it.

This bar is famed for it’s massive selection of vodka shots. With the chance to make your friend cry by making him drink the dreaded chilli shot, vodka revolution gets very lively on the weekends. During the week it’s more of a student crowd but is usually good fun. A large outdoor seating area in comparison to the rest of the city centre means its cool to chill in the day or is comfortable when forced to go outside to have your cigarette. It’s a fun night and worth a whirl.

Revolution is a typical bar in Bristol’s city centre, with an outside section, it makes more sense to be outside with your friends so you can actually hear them. The music inside overpowers conversation to the point where it is just better to go outside. True, nightspots are not the ideal places for long conversations but in Revolution, it is hard to hear people which makes it somewhere to avoid if you want a chilled out drink.
