This contemporary card and gift shop, located just outside Clifton Down Shopping Centre on Whiteladies Road, has some great cards and gift wrap — and a slightly random selection of gifts, mainly female-oriented. Humorous, cute, arty or meaningful — whatever occasion you can find something here — and probably a design you won’t see in the likes of Clinton Cards, which means there’s less chance of buying the same one as anyone else. I find the gift selection a bit more odd, though — a collection of a few books, some candles, a handful of local Bristol postcards and guide books, some picture frames, and even a few accessories such as belts. There’s a fairly extensive range of mainly silver and gemstone jewellery, too, some of which is quite pretty. For cards and wrapping paper it’s fantastic, but for gifts you’d be lucky to find exactly what you wanted here — unless, of course, you have no idea what you’re looking for, in which case you might just get lucky!

This is a fab little gift-shop which sells everything from books on cupcake baking to lovely handmade jewellery. I came in here to buy some stocking fillers for my mum just before Christmas and was delighted at all the lovely things they have on offer. There’s elaborately decorated diaries for gardeners, coasters with cats dressed as Abba(amazing) and cute animal-style shoes for little babies. They also have a vast range of greetings cards of a far higher standard than most high street chains– with some lovely arty ones and some really funny ones. The jewellery is in glass cabinets along the wall and is really reasonably priced.

This shop seems like it is has aimed itself at a pretty niche market. The only time i could see myself coming here to shop is if i needed to find a last minute present for a teenage girl. They have a very wide range of cards, some jewellery, and shoes and belts. It is just a very peculiar range of products to sell. The cards are the only reason that i would find myself in the there, they have got some very funny ones and there are some pretty good pictures on them. Odd one.

A great store that offers gifts for others and treats for you! As you walk in on the left there are loads of fantastic cards. There are some with beautiful art prints, a lot of very funny cards and most importantly for me, lots of very original ideas and designs. Inca has a huge range of cards and one for every occasion, all cards are of a good quality, I spent a long time just looking at all the cards — there were so many to choose from! The store has lots of great gift ideas too; candles, scarves, stationary and some gorgeous packaging to wrap your gifts in. The only thing to bare-in-mind is that Inca does not accept card payments of less than £5.00. On the right hand side of the store are a set of jewellery counters housing some lovely sterling silver pieces. Inca is one of the only places offering this sort of jewellery in this area(especially with the recent closure of High-Ho-Silver on the triangle); lots of very interesting designs with heavy silver pendants, bangle and rings with aqua and amber stones. I could easily while-away the hours in this store, and come out with bags of stuff! This review is mostly the opinion of my girlfriend, I tend not to buy much silver jewellery.

Hidden away to the side of Clifton Down shopping centre, you’ll find Inca; a girlie gift and jewellery shop. Feminine gift shops tend to fall into two categories; one that makes girls want to buy things for themselves and ones that boyfriends rely on for gifts for their girlfriends. Inca falls into the latter category. This is a reliably safe shop for boys you want to pick up a pretty(but expensive) piece of jewellery, or who are in pursuit of a meaningful birthday card. But girls, if you’re looking for a gift for your friend, or a treat for yourself I’d sooner head to Bloomsbury or Iota.

This place is a little hidden from some angles; it’s hiding behind the big coffee joint outside Clifton Down shopping centre. But it is a nice little place to get gifts and cards for birthdays. Probably ideal for the preteen and above female market, this shop has lots of little treats for her. There’s also a Bristol section, selling Bristolian items such a guide books and postcards. The range of greetings cards is very extensive and they feature a lot of independent designers. Lovely.

Nicely situated just along from Clifton Down Shopping centre, Inca is a gift and jewellery shop, offering a good supply of cards, jewellery and generic gift items such as photo frames and candles. Their selection of cards is definitely a strong point, as there’s some really nice and unique ones you wouldn’t be likely to find elsewhere. Along the right hand wall of the shop is a big cupboard full of jewellery. It’s mainly silver, and the prices are wide ranging, from lots of things that look good for under a tenner, to items that dip over £50+(which are better quality metal). I was pretty impressed with the standard of items at the cheaper end of the spectrum, you could get a real bargain here and still feel like you’ve brought a good present. Another plus point is the absence of useless tat, which is so often present in generic gift shops. With a laid back atmosphere, useful staff, and good products, Inca gets the thumbs up.
