I didn’t like it here. It felt cold and outdated, Like the reception of a children’s nursery. I had a hot chocolate. It was also cold and came in the tiniest cup they could find. I didn’t want to try any of the brownies or sweet goodies because it looked like they had been left out in the open for days. They looked all crusty. I don’t like it when cafes put all their food on display and don’t cover it up. Reggae reggae crisps came to the rescue. It was too late to get some fries. This annoyed me because it was only 7pm and the place closes at 8pm. I hear the food here is good but, the place just lacks any kind of atmosphere for me. I am not a vegetarian, but Vbites actually dented my enthusiasm for wanting to try vegetarian food. Perhaps I’ll just go back to Iydea and get a hot, hot chocolate on the way.

A vegan restaurant and shop at the Lanes. I ate a Sunday Roast there and it was not bad!

I’ve been dreaming about this place since we went. I have heard mixed reviews about it and some of my friends/family have said they aren’t fans, but they can’t sway me. I like it. My partner took me there amidst a long, icky day of job interviews and flat hunting and I ordered a(make-your-own) pepperoni pizza. Oh man. This hit the spot. Before I was vegetarian or vegan(going on 15+ years now) I used to love this food. This is probably the first time I’ve had this in all of that time and it felt properly comforting to me. It was really nice. The cheese, the pepperoni, the crust, and the size were all just right. It also didn’t feel too heavy, greasy, or unhealthy. It was delicious. And for £10 I was happy. The café also sells quite a few nice treats like cupcakes, slices of cake, and other sweet things. Unfortunately we had no time to try them as we had to head off, but we plan to go back in just a few days to sample what we can. I also like that you can purchase vbites products there in quite good selection. The location is excellent.

So… I have tried a few vegan/vegetarian restaurants in my life and I am surprised by the lack of reviews for this place because let me tell you… It is REALLY good. I ordered the BBQ meat pizza and it was DELICIOUS, the crust was thin and had just the correct amount of toppings, quite a little bit too much(trust me, not a problem). I regret not ordering the cake but I couldn’t eat more. I sort of stole some food from my boyfriend(pulled pork sandwich and sweet potato fries) and it was equally delicious. So go there, eat, be happy, enjoy the cute place, the nice staff and the reasonable prices. Will definitely come back :) !

Free wifi AND great cake! Huzzah! :) I am literally so thrilled that I’ve discovered this place! I spotted in en route to somewhere else and was so intrigued by their 100% vegan slogan that I just had to pop in. Not being vegan myself, I wouldn’t usually opt for the vegan option when I am out and about eating or drinking, so I figured it would be a fun experiment to try this place out. Now, I know I only had an Americano and a slice of cake but I genuinely couldn’t notice a single thing ‘wrong’ with the cake at all. It was delicious — moist, chocolatey and covered in tasty chocolate orange icing. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly and provided me with the code for the wifi which appeared to be fast, reliable and free — always giving any business brownie point, in my opinion. Having now explored this place a little, I see that they serve some rather good-looking food and even do a Sunday roast option, which could be quite a different experience for a regular attender of a good meat-based roast on the weekend. I will most certainly be back to try their food and re-sample more of their delicious looking cakes and baked goods!

Hell no! This place is everything bad in a veg restaurant. Let’s begin by saying the staff are completely dejected and will treat you like you’re another arduous task, next to pushing buttons on their POS. In addition, it is SLOW. I heard rumors about their old location being a drag, so I decided to time it out. The order was made at 3:39(15:39), the food was presented to me at 4:24(16:24). And only two other patrons were there! For a staff of five, it should not take this long! As for their food, STAYAWAYFROMTHEIRTARTARSAUCE! It tasted what lemon toilet bowl cleaner would taste like. Additionally, their«fish» was pre-made and was nearly flavorless, but did had a hint of the lemon toilet bowel cleaner. I also had some of their nachos and it’s as if they decided to load chunky(warm) marinara sauce, with what seems to be guacamole, and sour cream. It was not food and definitely not worth the price tag. Avoid this place like the plague! Unless they change their attitudes and menu, this place will sink like the old location. Don’t be played!

We had the BBQ chicken burger with chips, and the fish finger sandwich. The BBQ chicken burger was great– awesome flavours and a nice toasted bun! I really like the Redwoods chicken and this was a really tasty meal I’d definitely go for next time. However the fish finger«sandwich»(it was only one slice of bread with a tower of fish fingers on top) was pretty bad. The fish was really overcooked and hard, and despite the menu saying it included crushed avocado, this was missed out of my sandwich. The lettuce was pretty brown on the edges too. I really didn’t enjoy this sandwich. I’d go again but definitely don’t recommend the fish dishes.

I’ve been told that the place is quite new, and much better than the previous one. I can’t confirm though, but I’m quite surprised at the low rating given to Vbites… I went with a vegan friend who had told me about this restaurant. The place is quite nice but air con or a fan would have been well appreciated on that hot summer day… Anyway we decided to order two dishes that we would share, and the choice fell on the Hoisin Ducky wrap(£5,95) and the Fishy Finger Stack(£6,95). I found both absolutely delicious, fresh and tasty, especially the fishy finger stack. Meat eaters wouldn’t see the difference ! I also think it’s good value for money and the service was rather decent. Besides, after we finished our meal, the waitress served us a very refreshing green drink we didn’t order ! It’s a shame I didn’t ask what was in it, but I guess there was matcha tea, maybe kale… Since it was so hot, this free cold smoothie was more than welcome ! Such a good idea. Oh and they sell lots of vegan products as well, so if you’re interested in them it’s probably worth checking out !
