Considering the price it’s great. Love the shakes. This is probably the best budget burger joint in town.

I’m not a great fan of fast food especially burgers but this place is an exception and worth the detour. There’s a great selection along with meal deals, all made to order. The chips are tasty too! Have been there now twice and will go again.

This branch of Uncle Sams is a small takeaway joint! I have been coming here for years with family and friends to grab one of the famous burgers made to order in front of you! Unlike your average fast food joint uncle sam’s does offer more than a hamburger and cheese. They use real pieces of bacon, a very tasty home made chili sauce and garlic mayo which you cant find else where and all of there burgers are on a lovely brown sesame seeded bun! All in all good fast-food, something a bit different to what you may be used to! But tasty nonetheless! Milkshakes are pretty good to!

Uncle Sams do a great burger and they are a well kept Brighton secret. But you’d be hard pressed to stumble upon this branch hidden away on Montpelier Road. It’s takeaway only but not that that worries the natives. Uncle Sams do such good pure beef burgers, in great buns with all manner of sauces and relishes that once you’ve been, you always return. Try the chilli burger. Nice.

I hate fast food, but I love burgers from uncle sams! Thought not the cheapest place to have a take away the taste is well worth the extra few pounds.

This place is so expensive for a fast food takeaway. I used to love going there for a thousand island burger with fries until their prices went ballistic. Reduce your prices and you’ll get my custom again, otherwise I will stay away.

Uncle Sams are classic local burger bars. Compared to the branch in Burgess Hill, this is a slightly smaller store that is better suited to take away, rather than eating on the premises. Thankfully, this is the only downgrade from the other Uncle Sams I have eaten in. The burgers are still massive and cooked to order and the fries don’t end up being greasy or over salted. If you are feeling old, I would recommend the Sam’s biggest burger and it should certainly satisfy all but the most ravenous appetites. The staff here aren’t quite as friendly as the Burgess Hill bunch, but they do serve up the food to a good standard and with great speed. You might not get quite the choice of fillings as at Grubb’s, but for a quality comparison it’s a tough call to choose between Sams or Grubbs.

Probably the best take away burgers in Brighton & Hove. Good quality beef & fillings.

These are my favourite burgers in Brighton, so hard to choose between this and Grubbs. The double cheeseburger here is my personal choice, though sometimes the chicken burger with the very tasty salsa can be chosen if I am feeling impulsive. Craziness. Everything tastes very fresh and it seems to get all the extra bits right, the paper bag, the greaseproof paper, these are all very important parts of the Uncle Sam’s experience. The ketchup also hits the nail on the head. I might have to bike over there now.

Take away burgers are never great — but as burgers go those from Uncle Sams are one of the better choices. I must admit that I love their chilli burgers. The burgers used are really meaty(as opposed to processed) and the accompanying roll/salad is always fresh. If you have a cheese burger the cheese used is real(as opposed to out of a bottle). On this basis I convince myself they are better for you than most and have one as a treat only. Their chips aren’t too bad either !
