Awful. Have always ordered from AA Charcoal Grill(on Lewes Road) in the past but thought to try a different kebab house for a change. Ordered nothing special, just a large mixed lamb and chicken doner with chips. The potion was tiny with perhaps only two pieces of lamb meat in the entire kebab. And the meat which was provided tasted dry and mouldy with equally dry and stale bread. It was also ridiculously overpriced at around £20 for two kebabs and one portion of chips. There are plenty of other places to get a decent kebab in Brighton(Golden Grill on Church Road isn’t bad either) so avoid this one.

Ok we are quite literally swamped with Turkish kebab shops and so on! But dont be fooled by the outside of this shabby looking kebab shop! Once inside there is a rather quaint little eating area i wouldn’t suggest it for a special occasion more of a place you would go for lunch with a friend! But more importantly it is does lamacun or lahambajeen to anyone who is arab! Now this a traditional turkish or lebanese thin bread with minced lamb with spices and herbs. A squeeze of lemon and a dash of paprika and your done! really delicious a must try! They also offer a pretty decent iskender kebab! Not over priced and a nice change to the ordinary greasy kebabs from the more common kebab shops! I always order from here as they also do delivery!

This place has recently changed management and the guys have definitely taken it up a notch. I’d definitely say it’s the best place in Brighton n Hove for proper Turkish food now. It’s no longer just another take away but serves great home-cooked dishes as well as Pides(Turkish ‘pizzas’), Lahmacuns, stews, soup, etc. The service is friendly and warm, just the way the Turks do it best. And the food is just fantastic. Especially the Lahmacuns mmmm. But at 2.50 a pop they’re a bit overpriced. But you really feel welcome coming here an dleaving being brought a bowl of complementary warm bread when you arrive and a glass of tea before you leave. And the prices are fantastic too. None of that ‘one price for eat-in, another for takeaway’ crap that British/European restaurants try(and succeed in this country!) to get away with. Good memories of cold winter days and being brought back to life in this place.

This little restaurant, with a large take-away deli counter situated on Western Road, has a Eastern European/Mediterranean flavour. It looks like your average kebab shop but there is more on offer here. Try the Shish Taouk; a marinated chicken skewer served with garlic mayonnaise, pickles and salad. Ask for it in a wrap if you’re in a hurry. It is amazing. It is quite affordable, if you want to sit down have a plate full of meats and salad, you will get it for under a tenner. Cash only.

No surprises about what you can expect here: the best of Turkish cuisine to eat in or take away. Most everyone I know either takes away or gets their goods delivered when they’re needing a kebab or a kofte or two to hit the spot. The iskender kebab with doner & yoghurt always goes down well with me but if you’re still hungry you should try one of their great Turkish Lahmacun pizzas. The Istanbul is delicious and only £3: with minced meat, tomatoes, parsley, green peppers & cheese, crispy & very thin base.

It’s not the swankiest take away in the world — but the food always hits the spot ! Situated in Western Road it’s an ideal stop off point when you are on the way home from the pub(provided you live that way of course !) Take away menu is basic — kebabs, burgers and fries — but the food is freshly cooked and given to you steaming hot. Always a bonus ! Prices are reasonable and the staff are really friendly. There are a few seats inside — but in true take away style I prefer to take mine with me and eat it walking home(totally classy !)
