A sushi place with a bit of a difference. An all you can eat place. £15.80 and you can order as much as you like. Not from the full a la carte menu, but still an extensive range of food from sushi, to sashi, to hot dishes like tempura and noodles. It’s very dark inside, almost like a night club, but the food is good. It maybe called a buffet menu, but the food is made to order so it’s decent. It’s not like a normal buffet where everything is left in the middle of a giant room to help yourself. This is a much better way of doing things. The names are all in English translations of Japanese words, but you are helped by the pictures and descriptions that much up with the according numbers on the order sheet. Enjoyed all the dishes hot and cold. Can’t really fault it. The sashimi is great which is always a good marker for Japanese food. Full bar of bottle beers, wine and spirits.

I’ve been disappointed twice by Sushimania within the past month. First, we went for their half price lunch time deal. The hosomaki looked like it was made and sliced by a child, the sushi rice was still warm and the Japenese pickles we ordered was just mostly unseasoned seaweed. Tonight, we decided to give them another go. I ordered at 9pm and was told on the site that our order would be delivered at 10pm. Shortly before 10, I got a phone call from a sarcastic man at the restaurant telling me the delivery would be about 20 minutes late. Seeing as I’d been disappointed in the past, I asked for some miso soup or a money off voucher for the inconvenience. The clearly bemused man then said no, they don’t do money off vouchers and they won’t be giving me anything else for the delivery being late. When our order arrived, the sushi was warm and hacked up yet again and the Japenese pickles were yet again missing half of the actual pickles. It’s such a shame, everything was so nice the first five or so times we ordered from Sushimania. We won’t be ordering again as I could make better sushi and pickles at home, despite not claiming to be a trained sushi chef.
