Sehr sauber.

As Angela mentioned, this place has one of the best TripAdvisor ratings I’ve ever seen. 180 reviews and a 5 star average! Well. on Unilocal there are now two 5 star reviews. Just 178 left to go… Why does this B&B in Kemp town get 5 stars? Well the owners, Mary and Ramola, are the perfect hosts. They serve delicious breakfasts and have included some great touches to make your Brighton stay very agreeable. Being foodies themselves they have a list of restaurant recommendations for lunch and dinner, they even offer to book the restaurants for you weeks in advance if you tell them the sort of thing you are looking for. The rooms have large, comfy beds with free wifi, White company toiletries, some chocolates, wine glasses and a cable TV. They even provide US imported ear plugs if the noise of the bars is keeping you awake(although this really wasn’t that much of a problem for us). Every evening you get a breakfast menu where you record what choices you would like for the next morning, hang it on the teapot outside your door and as soon as you get downstairs for food they’re straight onto getting it ready for you. The location is great for enjoying the beach and is only a short walk from the lanes. Highly recommended.

The reason I decided to try out One Broad Street was because of its impeccable 5 star(and 98% thumbs up) rating from over 130 reviews on Tripadvisor: an astounding achievement. We have to agree with all those reviews: it all comes down to two people, Mary and Ramola, who made us feel like we’d come home on this holiday. They are the warmest and most genuine folk you’re likely to meet in Brighton and so amazingly willing to help you with the slightest problem or query. Apart from the wonderful hospitality, you can’t ignore the décor, because for the most part, it’s all white! Just artwork and soft furnishings give splashes of colour and although this sounds quite stark in fact it has the opposite effect, every feels to bright and airy, like a seaside beach house. The quality of the crisp white linens and beds rival 5 star hotels too, and they also provide free WIFI, tea and coffee facilities and flatscreen cable TVs. Our room was aptly named ‘Pier Room’, and was huge, with a mini kitchen for preparing cold meals and an en suite bathroom. Breakfast is huge, with home-made granola followed by a variety of cooked and vegetarian options, farmhouse breads, juices and teas or great coffee. This might be the best £99 a night we’ve ever spent.
