The Katarina Harvester has been ever so consistent in quality of food and drink over the many years we have been here. Downstairs is where the bar is and plenty of seating available throughout. Upstairs is the dining area, and you will be welcomed by friendly staff. Our family favourites are the sharing platters and the salad bar.

A bit like Ronsil, Harvester does what it says on the tin. You know what you’re getting with this gastro-pub and grill King. Free salad bar, a menu bursting at the seams with steaks, burgers, sausages, chicken, fries and every other hearty British much-loved dish, all accessibly priced not even the recession can tip Harvester prices above its humble £4.99. Although why they insist on plonking the renowned corn-on-the-cob on your plate taking up valuable meat space, I’ll never know. Decorated like every other Harvester in the country, this particular branch is huge, so you’ll never have to wait for a table. Unless Wetherspoons is shut, of course.

Ate here on the weekend, there was a free salad bar… but it was tiny. The fish I had was pretty good, the chips very average. I would call this an inexpensive place to eat an average meal.

This isn’t really a pub — but a Harvester Restaurant with a bar area. A few years ago there weren’t many places to go to for a drink in the marina and the Katarina was by far the best choice. Following a re-development of the area there are now loads of(much better) places to go for a drink. That said, the Katarina is unpretentious and does what it set out to do — provide cheap food and drink to the massess. There are worst places in the world you could end up but I certainly wouldn’t make a point of specifically going there. Not unless I ever get the craving for a huge platter of deep fried nibbles and a pint of ale … !!

This is very much like any other harvester anywhere else in the country. Dated décor and soulless atmosphere. That said I have been here on a couple of work parties and they have always made sure that we had a good time. Portions are huge(a bit to big for me !) and there is no arguing with their reasonable prices. Do not doubt that this restaurant would be very family friendly.
