My colleague asked me if I could swing by Croque Shop during my Brighton afternoon trip and bring her back some sausage rolls. I liked how the rolls are all presented in the window, clearly tagged, so you can window shop and know what’s available. The owner was friendly and labeled each sausage roll’s wrapper with the type inside. Love the attention to detail! The rolls traveled well in my tote bag and made it intact to my coworker the next day. She warmed them up and said they tasted just as good and fresh as they did when she was last in the shop. They certainly smelled good!

Posh cheese on toasties pretty much sum this place up. The guys are great, the bbq pulled pork and pork sausage roll was eye rollingly good. The sandwiches are also good but are a tad greasy maybe as I always feel a bit dirty after one. Downsides are the place is tiny and it seems to only take a couple of people for the queue to build up but then maybe I’m just impatient. Would definitely go back for s sausage roll though. 3.5 stars for me, shame u can’t put that on here. 3 seems too low.

Popped into this little place yesterday after playing a piano recital, and the food was incredibly good, especially given how cheap the place is. I had a tomato and basil soup, with a ‘croque bite’(mini croque monsieur), and a Marmite, cheese and pork sausage roll(I noticed it in the window and as a Marmite freak, couldn’t resist). The sausage roll was good, but nothing amazingly special, but the soup and the sandwich were seriously great — the soup was clearly freshly homemade that day, and was delicious, and the sandwich was fresh, toasty and gooey inside, just as it should be. I’d highly recommend this place if you want good, nutritious food at a reasonal price.

What I don’t like: The fact that loads of sausage rolls are displayed in the window. They probably go to waste. They should give them to the homeless or something. Also, I think they are slightly greasy. But I guess all sausage rolls are. Oh, and the flaky pastry ends up all over you. And the shop is small. What I do like: There is LOADS of choice. If you’re into sausage rolls, you might cry with joy. The marmite ones are not too marmite-y. The staff are friendly. They are beautifully round(the sausage rolls and bagels, not the employees). Very reasonably priced.

I was shopping in town today and felt a little peckish — not hungry enough to want a full meal, but I really fancied a quick tasty bite to eat. My boyfriend Scott suggested the Croque Shop on Duke Street — it has been open for a few months now and I have often had a little nose in the window when I walked past but thought nothing of it. Scott said he had tried a sausage roll from there a few months ago and that it was really delicious, so off to Croque Shop we went! I’m not the hugest fan of sausage rolls — when I do have them I prefer the ones you get from the butchers, and even then I find they are just too much pastry for me. The sausage rolls here were a delight! Small, yet packed with meat(and flavour) and not too much pastry at all! There were many to choose from, I opted for the pork and black pudding one(yes I eat black pudding and I’m only a little bit ashamed) and Scott went for the plain pork one. I’ve never been so impressed. At just under £2 each they were well worth the money and I wouldn’t hesitate to go there again. As the name of the shop implies, they also sell Croque Monsieur and various other French sandwiches. Utterly delightful!
