Ever since I was a small child, being nurtured by food obsessed parents, I’ve been a fan of cheese, and cheese regularly comes up in «things I would find it extremely difficult to give up if I became vegan» conversations. When I was living in the city centre last summer I made weekly visits to this stall, mostly to buy a big chunk of extra mature cheddar. For a few pounds, I was able to buy a big lump of cheddar that would last me the week(spending the same amount in a supermarket rarely buys more than a few days worth of cheddar rations). There’s a good selection of cheddars, but there’s also a selection of fancier cheeses that would hold the interest of the average cheese afficiado. The service is always polite and efficent, and as I mentioned in the first paragraph, it’s all extremely well priced. The cheese stall can be found roughly in the middle of the St Martins Church side of the Outdoor Market, fairly close to the outer edge. If you’re a cheese fan, live in Central Birmingham and haven’t visited this stall yet, you’re seriously missing out.
