No where else like it in town for fish n chips or my favourite– battered sausage suppper, peas onions and gravy… Fantastic portions and great comfort food. Lovely touch with buttered plain loaves. Can’t fault the place at all

I went here today for the first time as my friend had a voucher from a daily deal website. It wasn’t too busy at around 1.30pm, we found a seat with no problems. Waitress came over straight away to take our order and explained that a side of gravy, curry, beans or peas was also included. I went for the burger and chips with gravy, bread and butter and tea. My friend had the fish and chips. I honestly can say that I have never tasted chips as nice and I have been in many chip shops. They were crisp without being hard and crunchy. It was obvious that they had just been freshly prepared. They were piping hot, as was the burger and gravy. I am so glad I went and am already planning to return with friends. Lots of customer pictures on the walls, and of course Rihanna! Clean, friendly and delicious, just what the city needs in my opinion and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

I hadn’t been here in years and today we went for lunch to use a Living Social voucher we had bought. The voucher was for fish and chips with a side and tea or coffee. They brought us over tea without actually asking if we wanted tea — and neither of us drink it! So we sent it back and just decided to buy drinks, which we paid the extra money for. Other than this it went smoothly, and we enjoyed our fish, chips and sides(we chose gravy). Nice food, not the best ever, but nice enough and filling. Plenty of seating so it’s a handy spot to nip into if you’re shopping in town and are craving some chip shop food to keep you going.

On our holiday in the UK and our search for two things, fish and chips and a great price. Here we found both. And I would come here again if the fates bring me.

There is nothing like a Friday treat, and for our office, this is the place for it. This is a proper chippy, also perfect for those days when you may have had a few drinks the night before(no finger pointing now!). The tables and chairs are screwed down so it isn’t the most comfy of joints, but the staff friendly, the chips crispy and the portions substantial. Their gravy chip with peas and onions will brighten your gloomiest mood, and Rhiana has been there, so what more could you want.;-)

Was in the Chippie for the first time a few days ago with my wife. I went in a bit begrudgingly as for some reason I didn’t like the look of the place, I’m still not sure why. I’m glad she twisted my arm a little to get me in the door, the place was pretty good. The staff were cheery and seemed welcoming and seemed to have a good relationship with a few regulars that they had time to chat to as it wasn’t a busy time. The chips were very good I’m happy to say, neither dry nor greasy, freshly made(so a small wait) and piping hot. Hopefully if you went in at a busier time they would be the same and not left too long in a heating rack. The place was clean and well kept and all felt as it should, it wasn’t fancy by any means but for me at least this just added to the enjoyment of being in a proper chippie. I’ll get back soon I’d say and if there is a difference in standards when the place is busier I’ll write a follow up, but I get the impression this place won’t let me down.

This place has a really good reputation and rightly so. I called in here one evening on the walk home with friends and was pretty satisfied with the results. As the sign says it’s a traditional fish n’ chip shop serving up the latter along with burgers, hotdogs and some deep fried stuff like sausages and onion rings. Chip here are delish in my opinion. The right amount of crispiness and served in a bag big enough to sate your appetite. This little place is always busy, another good sign. There is a small seated area inside and staff are sound as a pound. Worth checking out.

There seems to be a bit of dying trend among true chip shops across Belfast, especially in the heart of the city itself. The problem now is that everything is trying to be a jack of trades — a pizza place, kebab shop also serving traditional fish and chips on the side, as a bit of an after thought. This little place is back on the traditional lines serving solid food, home-made chips and other deep fried goodness. Of course like always my bloody fish allergy means no fish and chips but from what my friend told me they were spot on. Busy when we arrived on Friday late afternoon but quick and friendly so more than worth the trip.

Up on North St. this simply named chip shop is a bit of a hidden gem. They do the usual burgers, hotdogs, chips, fry’s etc but the main reason I visit here is for the fish and chips. The portions are delicious and huge and reasonably priced for a town centre chip shop. There’s a small seating area and the staff are always friendly which is good as the place can get damn busy with people queuing and shouting orders all over the place. If you’re getting a big lunchtime order in I normally give them a ring in advance then the pick-up tends to go a lot easier and quicker. Pros: Great fish and chips. Cons: Can get very busy around lunchtime.
