I thought I’d rise to Nick’s challenge… Any excuse for a Haiku-​off and I’m lingering somewhere outside building up the courage to come in.
This one is just fine
Nothing worth writing about
Go to Botanic
It is much better
Because Botanic has staff
Who feign interest
The one in the town
May be more convenient
But smells quite funny
Bam! Here I come Japanese-​themed poetry nights! This one is grand but there are much nicer subways in town and particularly in Botanic. This one is the worst of a mediocre bunch. Shame really.

What to say that hasn’t been said already? Well this is the one little Subway that’s close to work and I was here yesterday meeting a fellow journo for a bite to eat.
It’s one of the smaller Subway stores but still boasts enough seating to cater for the busy lunch crowd. I went for the sub of day which had now risen to £2.29 for a six inch, still affordable and fills a void.
It’s not exactly the Waterside Inn but it’s substantial and hefty enough if you need that little element of energy to get you through the day.
The staff are friendly although one of the women who works there is so tiny speaking to her is a lesson in futility. Essentially everything she says bounces into the counter and therefore you generally have to stand on young tip toes or grow another six inches.
