Restaurante Alfândega

We went here on a whim. Our tour guide told us that restaurants in this area were not as touristy as the ones on the main roads, and I am a vegetarian and this place had lots of veg options. Let me start by saying that this place is amazing, but also the most expensive dinner we had in Lisbon (30 – 50 for 2 people). Next let me say, it was so good that we went there again the next day to try other stuff!
The food:
Cod with peppers was AMAZING!!!
Rocket salad was a basic arugula salad, but it was great too, because salads are scarce in Lisbon
chicken croquettes– good, but not the BF’s fav
lava cake– Pass on this, same as TGI fridays or Applebees
green wine– OMG can I IV this into my blood. It was the best wine ever (and I HATE wine)
white wine– meh
vegetables– very very fresh and tasty
asparagus– interesting combo with carrot purree, nice charred flavor
beef in spicy lime– BF says Meh
octopus and sweet potato– weird… we weren’t expecting fried balls
Overall, this was our favorite restaurant in Lisbon. Great food and great service!

Décoration tendance pour ce restaurant en mode tapas à partager tout près du quartier de l’Alfama. L’endroit est agréable avec sa hauteur sous plafond impressionnante. Service jeune et sympa. Les plats sont bien cuisinés mais manquent peut-​être un peu d’originalité. Attention, vous n’aurez pas d’accompagnement automatique même avec des plats de viande. Demandez spécifiquement à en avoir sinon, ce né sera que du pain :(

Went here as part of a Trafalgar Best of Portugal tour in late May-​early June 2015. It was our first night welcome reception and it really set the tone for a perfect vacation.
I wish I had noted all the many courses served that evening but in summary, it was delicious. The staff was so friendly and accommodating and kept our wines glasses topped off all night. It was such a warm and cozy setting in spite of us 52 tourists who literally filled the restaurant. When I’m back visiting Portugal, I’m definitely heading back here.

Heute waren wir auf der Suche nach einem kleinen netten Lokal zum Abendessen. Hierbei sind wir über ein Onlineportal auf dieses Restaurant gekommen. Als wir das Restaurant betreten haben, hat uns die zuvorkommende Besitzerin willkommen geheißen. Das Lokal ist sehr nett eingerichtet und man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Man kann hier verschiedene Gerichte bestellen, die dann als Teller an den Tisch gebracht und untereinander aufgeteilt werden (ähnlich wie bei Tapas). Wir hatten den Lisbon Octopus Salad und den Lachs mit Rucola im Crêpes, als Beilage zusätzlich noch Reis. Wir waren so begeistert vom leckeren Essen und sind beide satt geworden. Die Portionen sehen auf den ersten Blick zwar klein aus, machen jedoch wirklich satt! Ich kann das Lokal jedem empfehlen, der was kleines gemütliches sucht mit lokalem Flair und sehr nettem Service.

Fui convidada para um aniversário e acabei no Alfândega. Pareceu-​me cosmopolita e moderno demais para o meu gosto a principio mas quando vi que a mentalidade que quem preparou a ementa acompanhava o conceito e servia pratos equilibrados, de acordo com a época, criativos e ainda por cima saudáveis, descontraí. É afinal moderno mas descontraído o que nem todos os modernos pomposos são. Outra coisa que poucos conseguem é ter menus para grupos a 20 euros que também conta nos dias de hoje sobretudo se se vai para um aniversário onde contam muito as excelentes entradas e a boa carta de vinhos. E o Alfândega tem isto tudo.

Uma das minhas escolhas das últimas semanas, a propósito da Rota das Tapas que, este ano, triplicou o número de restaurantes participantes. As bi-​bolas (bolinhas de alheira e bolinhas de vegetais) foram o pitéu, apimentando um tempo pensado num ambiente tranquilo num maravilhoso chão de pedra, com recantos para leitura ou para usufruir de uma boa música. A repetir.

Já sou cliente do Alfândega há muitos anos, mais precisamente desde 2006 altura em que, ainda que já entregue à sabedoria da Ana Malta, era uma casa diferente, com outro ambiente e outros preços. Na minha opinião, melhorou muito. E note-​se, já na altura era bom.
O Alfândega é um dos bons sítios que temos para almoçar na zona da Baixa de Lisboa. Um sitio que foge da armadilha que é a ementa para o turista e o igualmente famoso, preço para o turista. Aqui não encontramos o bitoque com batatas deslavadas e arroz que mais parece cimento. Aqui encontramos comida que é feita e apresentada como se de uma obra de arte se tratasse. Mas uma obra de arte para ser apreciada por todos. O preço é o garante.
Um almoço completo, uma sopa, um prato, uma sobremesa, uma bebida e um café, fica por 10,5 € mas por 8,5 € temos prato, bebida e café e ficamos igualmente satisfeitos.
Crepes de Salmão, Tortellinis de Ricotta e espinafres, Dourada grelhada com molho teriyaki, Crêpe de alheira e espinafres, Risotto de espargos, farinheira e maçã… Enfim, é preciso continuar?

A cozinha é portuguesa e de qualidade.
O atendimento é cuidado e caloroso.
O Alfândega fica num edifício com história. O espaço está bem decorado e é marcadamente lisboeta.
A música é sempre boa, tal como tudo neste lugar.
O Alfândega é um daqueles sítios em que apetece saborear um bom vinho tinto e prolongar a refeição com uma conversa demorada…

Lovely, small, a little bit hidden restaurant located in the Rua da Alfândega, not far away from Baixa and Praça do Comércio.
Cheap and clever Portuguese dishes, which are prepared with fresh ingredients, can be tasted here.
The
menu is small, but none of the dishes has ever disappointed me! Ana is
often present at the restaurant and takes care that none of the guests
leave discontented. A highly pleasing alternative to all the tourist
bars and restaurants in Baixa and Bairro Alto. A visit is highly
recommended. Please check the opening times before. Lunch is available
daily, not open every evening
