A great little restaurant serving yummy Portuguese food. The staff is relaxed and it is always packed after 8pm.

Fantastic service and delicious food in a very nice and classy setting. The cod risotto and marinated salmon were both out of this world and arrived at our table looking like works of art. A really nice spot. It was filled with both locals and gringos like myself.

Perfect place for a dinner date. I had the Salmon ceviche, Maria catita bitoque and Portuguese custard tart ice cream. The ceviche was okay, it was like a cold salad? With chopped by veggies. The dressing was a nice touch. The bitoque was huuuuge! The cheese cream was a bit too heavy for me, but I love the runny egg over the steak though. I wish they served this dish with other things besides fries. The egg tart ice cream was absolutely divine. The crust was so crunchy and flaky, it tasted so good with the ice cream. I also had their white wine which was eh, it was too dry for me. My friend said it tasted like Chardonnay. Service is a bit slow here though. If it was t for the food, id give it fewer stars.

This place is excellent! The service, food and atmosphere are top notch. The portions were generous and the staff are very helpful in guiding you through the menu. The first time we came, we had bread, white wine and a cinnamon cake with a candied plum reduction that was incredible. The waiter was super cool about my entirely over-the-top request to purchase their bread to take with us as well — it was that good. The next time we came back for dinner but didn’t have a reservation — highly recommended on the weekends — and the manager setup a separate table for us after promising that if we came back in 45min he would have a table for us. This accommodation was much appreciated as the restaurants all around us were full. We had the mushrooms(10⁄10) and the sautéed sausage with pineapple(7⁄10). The mushrooms weren’t too garlicky, weren’t overcooked and were easily enough for two people to share as an appetizer. The sausage was good and well-paired with the pineapple. The texture was more brittle than one might expect which makes the pineapple essential to add a bit of moisture. The bisteque Catita, pork loin medallions and sardines with risotto were great as well. If you’re into super rich sauces and ham with your steak, you can’t go wrong with the Maria Catita steak. The pork loin medallions and sautéed spinach were juicy, served with a cherry tomato and sautéed ham(think bacon slice). All dinners were 8⁄10 and Id recommend any of them with the sardines representing a more traditional fare. For dessert, we reserved one of the sliced of cinnamon cake and added to it the passion fruit pie. Both 10⁄10. The service overall was comparatively excellent. Our waiter was super attentive and helpful in selecting outlet dishes and wine. For people not familiar with travel to Europe, Maria Catita, similar to many places you will go, presents each table with bread, butter, cheese and possible a flavored butter and/or sardine spread. All of these items are optional and a la carte — so eat them if you would like but know that they are not gratis.

Me and my friend were recommended to try this restaurant, it is quite easy to find with the aid of google map. Once we sat down, the waitress brought us bread, cheese, salmon paste, olive and ham, but she did not mention that it charged money, so i guess everyone got use to this kind of practise? We ordered calm and mussels as appetisers. The calms have very little quantity, and very tiny calm meats, so not worth ordering that. the mussels were fine, nothing too surprising. For main dishes, we ordered cod fish and seabass, both fishes tasted good, recommend the cod fish. The service was good, the whole experience is fine, though i hope the food give me some surprise before.
