Stairway to Heaven

Had Stairway burger. Good stuff although the menu didnt say it had bbq sauce on it. Food is good when it does finally arrive. 30 mins for a burger on a not at all busy wednesday at 1830? C’mon, you can do better than that…

Good place, better during the day and in weekends. A good value for high tea. Friendly service.

As a bar/​club, this place is not what it once was. As the name «Stairway to Heaven» should till you, this used to be a local celeb’s answer to Hard Rock Café. Not sure what the hell is going on here these days though. Last time I was here during the day (at least two years ago) there was Spanish music coming through the speakers and arrogant, know-​it-​all «service». Last Saturday we were here at night. About a year ago there was still the usual crowd with the right music; rock, metal etc. Last Saturday there was nineties music, about 2% of that was rock and the rest was dance and pop. Now that’s just not right.
I will say that I’ve been meaning to try the restaurant they run upstairs during the day, though not for the service. When I finally do eat here, I know I can expect an arrogant, naïve server. But the menu does look good, so hopefully at least the kitchen staff is knowledgeable.
Also, when ordering food here you MUST sit upstairs because they won’t serve you downstairs. Not sure why, because upstairs doesn’t seat that many people and downstairs does. Weird.
And last but not least. Toilets never seem to be clean, yet there is a cleaning lady there that demands you pay her. So if you use the toilet, sneak in on her break.

Een half jaar geleden waren we nog altijd goede hosting’ met coupon luciferboekjes en had een goede maaltijd. Sindsdien is de kwaliteit van de restaurants is nog dramatischer geworden. Vis wordt gekoeld. Brood Alt («wat moeten wij doen, zullen worden afgeleverd aan ons «). Griekse kroten onzorgvuldig voorbereid. Het is gewoon smaakt niet meer. beleefde kritiek zal worden verjaagd en zo belangstelling. Weinig aanbevolen-​in dit restaurant dus niet langer gaan

not too expensive, and fine with kids… food was not great, but overall not too bad.

As a restaurant, I don’t think it’s very good. The food is mediocre. It is a very nice place, however, to go to for drinks on a night out, especially when you’re into rock music!

Ein ziemlich rockiges Café-​Restaurant in Utrecht, das vor allem durch sein Interieur besticht. Unten und an der Bühne sitzt man an Tischen (teilweise in Gitarrenform) und genießt sein Bier. Auf der Gallerie welches den Restaurantteil namens «Steakway» beherbergt fühlt man sich dem himmel wirklich etwas näher: Himmelblaue Wände und eine Menge schon ziemlich kitschig anmutender Marienfiguren sind beherrschend.
Gerade für Studenten besonders schön ist die Studentenkarte, auf der eine kleine Auswahl der Hauptkarte steht, allerdings zum annehmbareren Preis von ca. 7 Euro.
Ab und zu gibt es auf der Bühne Livemusik. Alles in allem ein schöner Laden um mal günstig und in kultiger Atmosphäre einen Burger oder Salat zu essen.
