Spaarne 66

Very family friendly for both lunch and dinner.
Great service and good selections from French toast to steal sandwiches and desserts.

As said in my check in we traveled from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to find Spaarne 66 on a recommendation. It was really worth the trip!
The food was over the top, probably the best steak I’ve ever eaten. The environment is warm and inviting and the entire staff is lovable!
With any luck, we’ll be back!

Location: nice part of city– small walk off city center on first canal ring (actually next to canal). cozy little front area (old worn leather couches). Dining area against large windows looking out to street/​canal. Perfect for people watching.
Service: Very friendly staff… And knowledgable about wine and their food offering.
Food: a spot on four star. Really good– full of flavor, well presented, good portions. Happy customer here!

Been there multiple times, the service is always neat and super friendly, the food is amazing and always fresh! Must visit in Haarlem!

Visited Spaarne 66 on many occasions, great service and the staff is friendly. during summer one can sit outside and try their summer drinks, I tried all of them this past summer.
Their Cheese cake is fav dessert! And def worth a try.
What I thought was interesting is the history behind Spaarne 66.
Great atmosphere and wonderful prices if you ever visit Haarlem this is def one one the places to visit and have a cup of coffee.

Tolle Lage habe uns vor dem Lokal hingesetzt und eine freundliche Bedienung hat uns gleich begrüßt. Essen und Getränke bestellt und was soll ich sagen, ich hab mir ein Sandwich mit Fleischbällchen bestellt und dies war der Hammer, anders kann ich eseinfach nicht beschreiben. Waren am nächsten Tag auch wieder dort und es war auch wieder super lecker.
Service freundlich und schnell, Essen lecker, lecker, lecker.

I’ve been to Spaarne 66 twice and on both occasions I’ve liked my meal, but would love to talk to the chef to tell him how to make it better. In the clam chowder, the ingredients needed to simmer just a little longer and were just a bit too raw. In the pumpkin risotto, a bit more cream and acid would’ve added an extra punch. With the hen, a minute longer in the oven would’ve guaranteed a perfect entrée. So close!
Having said that, the atmosphere here is great, the wine is good and the owners obviously care about their business. During the summer, the patio on the Spaarne River adds a wonderful outdoor seating option. Prices are ok and the service is good. Definitely a repeat place. But I still wish they would go just a little further to get to perfection!
