Bad service, they serve the meal two times wrong. No happy service without a smile. Soup taste only like water, the price is a little bit too high(but what you expect). The food is okay tho. For the invoice they charge warm water as tea for more than 2 €, which is not acceptable. I don’t recommend it.

This is a review of this place from a «club» point of view. I like to go here on Saturdays because of the nice music, mostly good looking women, and the easy to reach location. I almost always have a nice time here and it seems to attract a lot of(nice) people too. Only thing that I don’t like is the paying for the toilet.

Really nice atmosphere, we had the private room which is really nice. Great choice of wine and friendly personnel. Location is great on the big square in the centre of Haarlem.

I am only reviewing this as a place to go out at night, not as a café. XO is probably one of the most popular places to go out at in Haarlem and I do not understand why. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night, the place it literally packed so tight it is sometimes impossible to even raise your glass to your mouth to take a drink of your beer. It is one of the only places in Haarlem where you have to pay to use the toilet, and during the winter, they make you pay to check your coat instead of like all other places just let you through it in a corner somewhere or hang it up yourself. For me going here usually puts me in a bad mood and I am ready to go to the next bar almost as soon as we walk into this place. The only reason that I do go back is occasionally I am with people that want to go there. The only positive thing about this place is that a lot of the best looking people in the Haarlem night scene go here.

Cute café on the Grote Markt with vibrant purple walls and eclectic décor. Take a seat in the covered outside area so that you can watch the passing parade.(We were there when the dignified Markt was transformed by a weekend car show, which was a little surreal but pretty entertaining to watch.) Lunch is straightforward. Sandwiches are big(our club sandwich was made with 4 [!] pieces of bread) and good to share. The tomato soup was the perfect choice for a cold day, topped with a spoonful of crème fraîche and accompanied by(more!) bread and aioli. Very filling and tasty. Service is friendly, and the location is prime. A good base from which to explore the center of lovely Haarlem.
