Saturday night I think it’s relatively slow in den haag restaurants. Also off the beaten path from the nearby square, which is what I was seeking. I had the sole which was lightly beaded and served with parsley sundried tomatoes and a couple slices of chile. I thought that the chili made it. Salad was nice and fresh. They have ketchup if the Dutch custom of mayo with frites doesn’t cut it for you.

We came here on a Thursday evening and it was buzzing the staff sped about, smiling as they went taking and delivering orders. The food, ambience and service are ate some of the best you’ll find in Den Hague. The chicken sate is exceptional — rich, dark sauce smothered over chunks of tender marinated meat — a world away from the pale, measly sticks you often get. Good value too. For 2 entrees and 2 small beers, we paid under 30 euros.
