This place was recommended to us by a local who runs food tours in Amsterdam — it’s one of the stops along the tour. She suggested the lumpia and roti, and both were excellent, though the roti stole the show. For those unfamiliar, lumpia are much like egg rolls — crispy, fried rolls stuffed with vegetables and sometimes meat. Roti is a curry-based dish — in our case containing chicken, carrots, and potatoes — served with a bread(the«roti») that is dipped in the sauce. The restaurant itself is a bit cramped and warm, so we sat outside and ate our piping hot food while people-watching. It made for a delicious and inexpensive lunch — we returned later in our trip for more roti(it was that good).

their chicken sandwiches are the closest to a banh mi I’ve found in Amsterdam. Quick, clean, and kind service. My must have lunch whenever I’m at the Albert Cuyp market.

Great food. Clean, simple setting. Nice people. It may not be without competition, but it’s one of my favorite places for a quick pit-stop lunch.
